...or items?

Mine have been:

  1. A large transparent command hook that I put on the side of a chest of drawers to hang my hairdryer on (I tried lots of other sticky hooks before but that was the only one that actually worked)
  1. Buying all the same clothes hangers so DD's clothes look tidier
  1. A large kitchen sink tidier which has instantly made the kitchen side less messy

I am on a constant mission to improve our living spaces, so AIBU to ask what yours have been?

Joseph Joseph Totem Bin; instead of 4 scruffy bins roaming around one corner of the kitchen we have one multi-functional one and a slimline box on a unit behind the fridge for cardboard.

MRex · 20/02/2021 21:07

We also got Thermos flasks all round, long overdue and very useful. I bought about 8 oximeters to send one to each close relative's house, but due to other health conditions have found my Omran M2 heart monitor really useful. Bought one for my dad too, so he could be clear with doctors if there was an issue during lockdown.

OP - if you're into tidying and have the right type of shower for an over-door caddy (a shower pane that isn't the door), we have this one and it's fantastic: www.simplehuman.co.uk/products/hanging-shower-caddy-over-door?variant=32718170685545.

A rather nice 3yo mare by Argento. Perfect excuse to get out of the house and do something outdoors.

zazas · 20/02/2021 22:36

Best purchase ever was this hammock:
www.argos.co.uk/product/7525832?clickSR=slp:term:hammock:2:14:1
It sold out very quickly but there is limited stock now. It was so sturdy and incredibly comfortable and folds away easily during winter. Working from home and being able to slip out at lunch time to read and relax in the sun on this was a complete joy.

Oooh I love these kind of threads! I’m another emotional lockdown shopper for sure Blush So far I’ve bought:

Our first house Grin
A milk frother for coffees and hot chocolates
A tuff tray for DD (who is only a baby still but hoping to get a lot of use out of it over the years)
An air fryer
A proper office chair with back support for WFH
A sturdy hanging storage thing for the bath to house all our shampoo etc which actually screws into the tiles so isn’t flimsy dropping bottles everywhere
Wellies
Baby sling with good support
Ring alarm and doorbell

Those who have purchased a rubber broom for hair - is it a small brush type or a proper broom that you need? Postpartum hair loss has meant my carpets are currently housing more hair than my head!

A shoe horn - it was a gift but would have bought one if hadn't been given it. So comfy for putting on walking boots

heidipi · 21/02/2021 09:57

Best buy last summer was swings for the kids - £30 each from Argos (plus £20 anchor kit from Amazon) that got hours of use everyday and are coming back into use again now.
I got a 2nd hand kindle from eBay which I bloody love - £1 or free books are helping me switch off and zone out from lockdown woes.
Not a buy but I reset the old slow laptop I had given up on and replaced and it works again now and is fast enough for homeschooling. We've another dead laptop I'm going to have a go at and see if I can get it going too so there's less swapping and juggling needed.
New storage for Lego from IKEA was another lifesaver - it's played with daily now and much easier to keep tidy.
I've made a list of things to investigate from this thread!

@Chewingle thanks very much, but I really wanted to get one with the full warranty because I'm cursed electrical appliances Grin

I think there are some offers on with Amazon though, thanks @CoRhona.
