...or items?

Mine have been:

  1. A large transparent command hook that I put on the side of a chest of drawers to hang my hairdryer on (I tried lots of other sticky hooks before but that was the only one that actually worked)
  1. Buying all the same clothes hangers so DD's clothes look tidier
  1. A large kitchen sink tidier which has instantly made the kitchen side less messy

I am on a constant mission to improve our living spaces, so AIBU to ask what yours have been?

Erazer gaming notebook P6605 with NVIDIA GTX 1050, Dolby audio and noise cancelling headphones.
Go, be annoying for I cannot hear you and do not care.

A bbq. We had a great summer in our garden

Brew Tea subscription

A conservatory Shock

PS4 for DS3 so he could play online with his mates. He is excitable and loud on it but also much happier.

I was grateful for our big trampoline although we already had it.

Occasional brownie boxes from a local baker.

Pull up bar for my older two who are climbers.

None of them life changing in the sense of tidying, but they did help to make lockdowns more bearable.

Weight loss surgery (sleeve gastrectomy) I've lost over 6 stone since last September and have reduced my BMI and covid risk massively Grin

@Noflora

Robot vacuum cleaner. Just been the best thing , the purchase of 2020.
Seconded

My Kenwood chef! It's enhanced all our lives!

Airpods, used for zoom most days, listening to audio books when out walking and at the allotment, used for phonecalls so hands are free and I can walk around the house while chatting. Yoga mat and blocks for zoom/youtube sessions.

We had bought a garden swing seat and heated throw the year before, both have been much appreciated, as has the dartboard that we've had for years.

A huge red padded coat, bit like wearing a massive duvet 😀

And this, I couldn’t do without this:

Lockdown 2, a rainproof padded coat with zip up pockets, elasticated cuffs (no cold draughts), and a really good adjustable hood that stays put when it’s wet and windy.

It was only an M&S relative cheapie but it’s made walks possible in virtually all weathers.

3 Oodies, one for me, others for Dds, new switch with ringfit adventure. The oodies win, they put them on as soon as in and love them!

HelpFlattenTheCurve · 19/02/2021 10:10

An extra freezer. It allows us to always have enough meat, fish, bread, and butter, all of which seem to freeze well, while substantially reducing waste, especially for bread.

An extra large cooking pot. That, plus the freezer, enables us to batch cook certain meals, which saves a lot of kitchen time.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/02/2021 10:10

Remembered a few more from lockdown one:

  • a sewing machine: I'm not very good at using it, but it's definitely helped save my sanity
  • knee length waterproof coat
  • beer and cakes from local businesses
CoRhona · 19/02/2021 10:13

I've just ordered some brownies - not essential but a great suggestion Grin

A puppy

MrsWombat · 19/02/2021 10:27

A food scoop for serving mash potato (and sometimes rice) in a nice hemisphere shape. We started eating mash a lot more during the beginning of lockdown 1 when the supermarket shelves were empty of rice and pasta but potatoes were still in good supply.

Ooodie for homeworking
Fire pit
Creative fabric subscription, and a few other bits of software to make digital content which has given me a focus and kept me sane.
Disney plus

@Purplecatshopaholic

Slim leg joggers (numerous) look almost presentable so feel less slobby - feel much better about myself as a result. Fleece insoles for the dog walking boots.
can I ask where you got the slim leg joggers from please? Leggings no nothing for me!
JustJustWhy · 19/02/2021 10:38

Big boot slippers
Wax melter
Yorkshire Biscuit Tea
Oodie
Mindful Chef
Wok with lid
Manhattan recorder after ditching Virgin
Waterdrop tablets to make flavoured water

do nothing

I was also going to say Amazon Prime. Especially as we’ve just moved house and all the shops are shut, I’d like to buy from different shops but when you need 20 random things including some quite urgently it’s nice to have one place you can get them all.

Apart from that, waterproof sealskin socks for running in winter have made me get out more. Much cheaper than new goretex trainers and also I think more effective as they go halfway up your calf.

Disney Plus has also been great.

Slow cooker - now we’re working from home we can wack it on at lunchtime and have something lovely ready for dinner.

HopeHappy · 19/02/2021 10:46

@QualityRoads

Table tennis table top. Not full size but great fun!
OMG - we (and possibly more importantly - the cats) would love this!
SoupDragon · 19/02/2021 10:48

I didn't buy it but, at the start of the first lockdown, I made a small blackboard that tells us the day of the week, what is for dinner and who is walking the dog. It has saved many questions and arguments!

Supersimkin2 · 19/02/2021 10:50

Big round mirrors. Light up the place through the months of drear.

Pasithea · 19/02/2021 10:50

Beware the Lucy and Yaks. It is addictive. I have not got a collection in double figures. No sir not me.

Oodies lovely but definitely over priced for the quality.
