Have visited earth? DH and I were watching Ancient Aliens. Obviously it’s a tv show exaggerated just for entertainment but it raised some discussion in the likelihood of aliens visiting us. Neither of us have any doubt about the existence of life in the universe but whether they have visited us or not is still an ongoing discussion. Do you believe we have been visited? YABU - No were totally alone YANBU - Yes we have either definitely been visited or it’s likely we have

Given that we haven't visited any planet with extra terrestrial life on it I think it's unlikely we've been visited! I don't know why alien fiction always assumes that there is life our there with more intelligence or more advanced technology than us.

Its possible at some stage in the past but i dont think so.

The distances are too vast and I dont think ftl will ever be possible for any civilisation.

What about civilisations that are millions of years older than us? The discovery of quantum mechanics opens up the possibilities of bending space time. Maybe they’ve discovered a means of transportation that uses physics we simply don’t know yet.

Personally if they turned up and offered a lift out of here DH and I would volunteer

For aliens to visit us, they would need to be at an appropriate level of technology (blink in the eye of the age of the universe) to get here, at the time that humans exist (another blink in the eye), and close enough to us to get here. Pretty sure there's life out there. Fairly likely to be intelligent life. Intelligent, currently technologically advanced life out there but close enough to visit, and has been visiting? Not likely.

It's something I think we are never really going to know and that's the beauty of all of this. I'd like to think there is something else out there.

Maybe governments/military do know there is something out there, but apart from a select few, we'll never know.

Have you ever read about the Fermi paradox (I think it’s called), it’s fascinating.
I think there is or has been other life out there but I doubt we’ve been visited. I think if we had been, we would have been conquered or colonised.

It's probably unlikely there aren't any other planets in the entire universe with intelligent life.

Visitors, though? I'm not as convinced.

If they ever did show up, though, people would make tiktok videos of their encounters or something and nobody would believe they're real.

I believe there is a very good chance of other life out there in such a vast unknown but I don’t believe we have been visited and I very much doubt that we will ever (in our lifetime or that of our children or grandchildren as a minimum) find evidence of intelligent life elsewhere.

Your poll is difficult to answer as it gives the option of no other life or we have been visited - no option for believing in other life forms somewhere in the universe without being visited.

That is so cool. I saw a UFO as a kid and it was on the news so I wasn’t the only one. Was it aliens? I don’t know but definitely unidentified.
