Happy Christmas Eve everyone! Grin

So have the kids all day tomorrow which I am so looking forward to. However, they go to their dads on Boxing Day for the day and overnight.

I haven't had a day like this to myself where I have nothing on in so long and I'm really looking forward to it.

Planning on cracking the champagne as soon as they leave (10 am ish) Grin is this acceptable?

Also other than eating and drinking all day could anyone recommend anything else I could get up to or any films/series I could watch?

Sorry if you can't tell I am ever so slightly excited maybe more than Christmas Day.

Devonchills · 24/12/2020 18:41

Absolutely OK!!

Have you seen The Queens Gambit? Worth a watch if you haven't.

I had a glass of prosecco with the mcdonalds I got ds at lunch ecause I'm bedsharing (with our 3mo dd) and don't want to risk it of an evening but fancied one 🙈

snowstorm2012 · 24/12/2020 18:49

Absolutely! Christmas time, airports (when you're going on holiday, on holiday, birthdays. All acceptable for day drinking, cheers 🥂

Chanjer · 24/12/2020 18:50

Been drinking since 10am, will stop on 27th Wine

PimlicoJo · 24/12/2020 18:51

If you have Netflix I think Emily in Paris would be a lovely binge watch with a drink or two. Enjoy your day.

delilahbucket · 24/12/2020 18:51

Totally acceptable! Have you got Netflix? So many original series on there to get lost in. We binged the Umbrella Academy.

BillieSpain · 24/12/2020 18:54

I did it today and yesterday! (Well, sherry!)

I like watching absolute rubbish on these occasions, guilty pleasures include 'Made in Chelsea' 'Real Housewives of Orange county' etc Just switch off and make a lovely bowl of pasta.

mrsc20201 · 24/12/2020 18:56

Yes absolutely!!

FluffyRabbitGal · 24/12/2020 18:58

Days like that feel like such a bloody treat when you haven’t had one in so long

Second the suggestion of Emily in Paris for a binge

Fuckingcrustybread · 24/12/2020 19:03

Of course it's ok. Have a good one

MargotMoon · 24/12/2020 19:05

shoogal · 24/12/2020 19:07

Totally do it! Sounds fab!
I was on the Baileys at 3pm today.
I’m currently watching
Breaking Bad
The Real Housewives of Cheshire
Billions

Veryverycalmnow · 24/12/2020 19:07

Schitts Creek on Netflix. Definitely daytime prosecco

WeeBenny · 24/12/2020 19:09

I cracked the wine at 1 today once I finished work. Helped with the Xmas clean!

PenguinIce · 24/12/2020 19:10

Sounds amazing, I think all mums should get Boxing Day to spend on their own after the chaos of Xmas prep! If you haven’t watched it yet I would recommend Normal People!

GlowingOrb · 24/12/2020 19:10

I rarely drink, but kids out of the house for a day and night is exactly when i crack a bottle of champagne late morning.

FTEngineerM · 24/12/2020 19:12

We are 🥂🍻 DC is spending the night with DGPs, we will probably be sleeping after the first glass though😂.

Enjoy the much deserved time.

TheWristBoundLatexBitch · 24/12/2020 19:14

Daytime drinking is compulsory on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. It's optional (but strongly encouraged) on Christmas Eve and New Year's day!!!
