To my ordered flowers are meh?

Ordered flowers for a friend. Wanted to make an extra special effort so splashed out £60.

First pic is advertised flowers. Second pic actual.

I think it's a bit poor. Friend loves them. Should I complain?

It’s not far off to be fair?

HotSince63 · 14/12/2020 16:17

Looks like they've just sent a bunch of roses.

There's more roses in the actual flowers than the advertised ones, but less other stuff.

It's a bit 'meh' for £60.

Sosigsandwich · 14/12/2020 16:18

They're absolutely nothing like the photo! 100% complain.

AryaStarkWolf · 14/12/2020 16:18

Far too much green shit in there, it's pretty far off the first picture imo

CarpetTime · 14/12/2020 16:18

I’d rather have all those lovely extra roses than the fillers!

AryaStarkWolf · 14/12/2020 16:19

Also they look very messy

SarahAndQuack · 14/12/2020 16:19

I wouldn't personally have paid £60 for either version, but I think the second version probably cost more - I can see more roses and fewer cheaper flowers (though personally I'd rather have some of the cheaper ones!). And the red berries look nicer than the St John's Wort (if that's what it is) in the sample pic.

I think if your friend loves it, that's what matters. Have you seen the bunch itself or just a picture? White flowers sometimes look a bit boring in photos even if they're lovely in real life, so maybe that is why she's happier than you?

BorisSortYourHairOutAndBrexit · 14/12/2020 16:19

I agree they don’t look great and I’m not sure the roses will last that long. Plus it’s filled with lot’s of one type of greenery but many of the other varieties showing in the picture are missing. (They might state in the description that some bits might not be available to cover themselves though).
I would complain and see what they say. I would be disappointed too.

sqirrelfriends · 14/12/2020 16:20

You're missing a few of the filler flowers which is why it looks a bit sad in comparison. From what I can see, it should have at least 3 more types of flowers/ foliage.

Flowerpot345 · 14/12/2020 16:21

I think you have been ripped off there, they don't like they have been arranged properly and I don't think they look like the picture

HotSince63 · 14/12/2020 16:21

It's basically 12 white roses packed with green filler and a few berries.

littlebirdworrying · 14/12/2020 16:21

Nothing like the advertisement!! I'd be pretty gutted tbh

Doggybiccys · 14/12/2020 16:22

Hmmmm - hard to say from just a photo. Certainly yours look at least a bit wilted. If your friend is happy I'd let it go and not use them again.

ButtWormHole · 14/12/2020 16:22

Online flower deliveries are so disappointing aren’t they? I get gorgeous flowers from Lidl at a tenth of the price. Completely not the point though, I would not be happy with that! Friend probs thought they were £20-£30

snowisfallingallaroundus · 14/12/2020 16:25

@HotSince63

It's basically 12 white roses packed with green filler and a few berries.

That's my take on it.

Think I'll ask for them to be sent again

The roses look like they're on their last legs. Agree you should complain OP.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 14/12/2020 16:33

It does all look as though it's on its last legs, tired, wilted!

justanotherneighinparadise · 14/12/2020 16:34

I think the main issue is it doesn’t look fresh. It’s all looks rather wilted and sad.

Pollypocket21 · 14/12/2020 16:38

The roses are def past their best

PerfidiousAlbion · 14/12/2020 16:39

It looks like someone bought white roses from the garage and then foraged the rest from their garden.

It doesn't look 'arranged' at all.

Coldandcross · 14/12/2020 16:41

Yes definitely complain - it’s meant to be a mixed bouquet with 5 varieties of flowers and mixed foliage. That’s not what you’ve been given.

Bourbonbiccy · 14/12/2020 16:42

I would complain the flowers look tired at best, and the decoration looks so uninspired. For £60 I would expect better arrangement.

Turquoisesea · 14/12/2020 16:44

Was it serenta flowers? My DH ordered me some for my anniversary and spent the same amount and was disappointed as it looked nothing like he ordered, had loads of greenery and not much in the way of flowers and the roses were wilted after 2 days. He should have complained really but I didn’t want to make him feel bad so said I thought they were lovely (but I was disappointed in the quality and they weren’t really arranged at all).

crazyfishh · 14/12/2020 16:46

If they'd been arranged better I wouldn't have complained about the lack of variety however it looks a bit of a mess. If your friend loves them I'd ask for a bit of a refund vs new flowers completely unless you think she's just being nice and would appreciate new ones.

snowisfallingallaroundus · 14/12/2020 16:46

Eflorist.

Was going to use M&S but lots of poor reviews so switched.
