Things you can't stand for no reason whatsoever?

I have a real aversion to silicone. For some reason the thought of it makes me feel like I'm going to throw up, I can honestly get to heaving point 🤢 I've no idea why, it's not the feel of it. I just can't stand the thought of it.

It's the same with bottle tops, like the screw bottle top on a bottle of coke. The tip is always so scratchy and it gives me shivers.

Anyone else have random things they cannot stand but can't really explain?

DH thinks I'm a freak 😂

The word "veggies". Gives me the rage for no apparent reason.

theresagiantonthebeach · 10/12/2020 11:02

bright yellow cars. hate them

Winterfellismyhome · 10/12/2020 11:02

So random but the though of chewing gum being pulled off a carpet makes my teeth itch

Namechange2020lalala · 10/12/2020 11:05

Plastic bags give me the ick.

Also 'fussy eaters' really annoy me.

MedusasBadHairDay · 10/12/2020 11:06

Chalk/charcoal on paper, just the thought of it makes me cringe, which was really inconvenient when I did a fine art course - especially when it turned out I was quite good at charcoal drawings even if I spent the entire time shuddering.

Gardeniaofdelights · 10/12/2020 11:06

Organza fabric - when I touch it I feel like my skin has been flayed.

Frenchdoors1 · 10/12/2020 11:06

Noisy car and motorbike exhausts.... Can't bear it for even a second... Grrrrr Angry

Spongebobsquarefringe · 10/12/2020 11:07

Jude Law no idea why.

UnChristmassy · 10/12/2020 11:10

DH gets this when you scratch on fabric. Say if you were in jeans and had an itch on your leg for example, he cannot stand it.

Velour tracksuits

Human hair when detached from its owner (particularly in bathrooms). For some reason I don't have the same psychological reaction to animal hair - that's a minor inconvenience because it's messy, but it isn't disgusting to me.

PeskyRooks · 10/12/2020 11:13

I can't stand touching velvet. And if someone shuffles their bare feet on a carpet it makes me cringe.

CakeRequired · 10/12/2020 11:14

A certain material usually used on pencil cases (the bag kind) that when you run your nails over it, it is a screechy kind of scratch. I hate that so much. I bought a phone cover on amazon that was that material, had to send it back, couldn't touch it.

Butterflight · 10/12/2020 11:15

Eating cotton wool. Obviously I've never done it, and I have no idea why I even think about it, but the thought makes me shudder.

ImNotShpanishImEgyptshun · 10/12/2020 11:15

I have a phobia of baked beans and buttons. No idea why. I'm not alone in these phobias though.

Ditto. I was going to add this and wool blankets and jumpers. The thought of the squeaky noise if you bite them shudders I must have done so in my childhood, but I can't remember. Just the thought makes me shiver.
StillCoughingandLaughing · 10/12/2020 11:19

Icing bags (you know the ones you make by creating a paper cone to pipe icing onto a cake)? We were taught to make them in home economics at school and I still want to vom at the thought of icing oozing everywhere.

The word ‘boxers’ to refer to any type of men’s underwear. For some reason it really annoys me that people won’t just say ‘pants’.

Desiccated coconut 🥥 I don’t like coconut anyway, but it just makes me think of death Xmas Envy

UnChristmassy · 10/12/2020 11:21

The plastic seals on bottles of milk.Im filled with dread if I'm the first to open it.

KatieGGGG · 10/12/2020 11:23

Thick socks that have been washed without fabric softener. Makes my teeth ache in the same vein as cotton wool or old dry towels Sad

dentydown · 10/12/2020 11:24

The work sox instead of socks. I don’t know why, but it irritates me!

Bluntness100 · 10/12/2020 11:26

People who don’t pick their feet up when they walk,
People who make loud noises when eating. Well any noise.
Poor table manners, like talking with your mouth full or using your cutlery incorrectly,

All completely and utterly innocuous but so irritating,

Mrsjayy · 10/12/2020 11:28

Jude Law no idea why.Jude Law no idea why.

Me too I reckon it's the smug face!

I'm like this about eyelashes.

Scenes in romantic films where someone brushes an eyelash off someone elses cheek....bleurgh.
