To be MASSIVELY pissed off..........

that I lost 6 stone and now look similar to this?

Obviously I left it too late (nearly 50), after being fat for over 20 years, but I didn’t have the mindset to lose the weight until DC got older. It’s taken me almost 3 years (while also battling menopause and hypothyroidism) and because I mainly did it through exercise, it’s taken a lot of hard work!

I used to look so much younger when I was obese!

I am so fucking disappointed. Especially with my horrible turkey neck Angry.

I know INBU but thought I’d check anyway.

The best wat to avoid sagging skin when losing weight. ^

Not a guarantee though.

Best WAY (not wat!)

Well done you! @BaublesToIt

Have to say, when someone is ummmm... a bit older, (like 45 plus,) and they lose quite a bit of weight, they sometimes do look a bit rough/ haggard/ old. But in some cases, they start to look normal/more like their age, within six months to a year.

As a few posters have said, your internal organs and bones will thank you, and you've probably added 15 years to your life.

Bet you look better than you think you gorgeous gal! Shock Grin

And those baldy cats are cute. Grin

I also think that people are entitled to feel pissed off with the loose skin, and to want it removed. All this self-love mantra is all well and good, but some people are just not happy with how they look. If we should all love ourselves no matter what, then why do we even bother losing weight? 'Oh for our HEALTH!' ...... Bullshit.

Whilst it is of course, a great benefit to our health, the main reason many people lose weight is because they look better. It's a fact that everyone looks better slim, (or athletic or a bit curvy, like up to 2 stone overweight,) and not obese.

Very few people are happy with how they look. If people want to have any procedure to improve how they look and feel, it's got naff-all to do with anyone else, and no-one has a right to put them down for it.

@JesusInTheCabbageVan

Congratulations OP!

(If you only smile, you could look like this instead) Grin

Those cats freak me out so much, not even sure why. But that one in particular is a thing of nightmares!" Shock

PP who described leg as 'elephants ballsack', yup. Thats the perfect description for mine after weightloss.

Well done OP.

On a LCHF bootcamp thread, week 8 I think, it was there was a good chat about how to deal with resulting loose skin, the general consensus was it could take a year to adjust, moisturising was very good for you, both inside by drinking lots of water and outside by applying it externally. The other suggestion someone had was that Intermittent fasting had really helped them, so it may be worth checking out that thread.

I can understand why you're disappointed but also - you lost 6 stone - that's AMAZING. Your chances of having a heart attacked just got slashed SO HARD!

Please carry on if there is still more weight you want / need to lose - it's so much more about your health than the way you look.

Johnson and Johnson baby oil is absolutely the best thing ever for me personally.

Someone asked about the collagen. At the moment, I have it as collagen protein powder and take half a portion every 2 days. When I finish this, I am moving onto just collagen tablets (have now worked out great natural protein source - a homemade yogurt). It's type 1 collagen. I also make ever so proper bone broth from bones, joints and skins of anything I can get my hands on😂 It's a tasty natural way to get incredible goodness including collagen, into your body.
Type 2 collagen is more for cartilage rather than skin.

Every little bit helps, innit.

I have lost 2 stone this year and am quite saggy and wrinkly, especially hideous if I do yoga naked and take a look at myself doing downward dog (try if you want a laugh??) I just think oh fuck it but accept you have lost a great deal more than this - massive well done to you.
