To be MASSIVELY pissed off..........

that I lost 6 stone and now look similar to this?

Obviously I left it too late (nearly 50), after being fat for over 20 years, but I didn’t have the mindset to lose the weight until DC got older. It’s taken me almost 3 years (while also battling menopause and hypothyroidism) and because I mainly did it through exercise, it’s taken a lot of hard work!

I used to look so much younger when I was obese!

I am so fucking disappointed. Especially with my horrible turkey neck Angry.

I know INBU but thought I’d check anyway.

I feel your pain OP. I lost 2 stone really stupidly quickly, and whilst I now have legs to die for, I seem to have gained actual udders. The rest of me is fine, but my stomach is like a bin bag half full of water. My tits find it so fascinating they've decided to get closer to this weird swag of sagginess.

But congratulations on improving your overall health though! Future you will thank current you for the effort, promise Flowers

SusannaSpider · 10/12/2020 14:05

I lost 40kg about 4yrs ago, had quite a bit of lose skin, turkey neck, and tits like spaniels ears. I'm 51 now and contrary to some of the naysayers upthread, my skin has tightened a fair amount, still not massively happy with my jawline and neck, but it has improved.

bigfelephantom · 10/12/2020 14:10

In a similar boat - was joking that I'd need to sell a kidney and not sure whether to use for a face lift or arse lift Grin
Mid 50s and been overweight or obese most of adult life and got a few kids too. Lost over 3 stone (I'm very short). Did a side by side photo comparison of me at the start and now and the difference is striking. Before = plump shiny smooth cheeks and now there are lines and the start of wrinkles plus jowls and the turkey neck. That's just from the neck up!
Arms are a bit flappy, stomach sagging, arse sagging and when I plank the loose skin sags down.

But I don't actually care! I've gone from obese to within normal weight range, my muscles are much more defined, I'm the fittest I've ever been and I'm wearing clothes which I could only imagine before.
I've a spring in my step, I can jump down from stools, run up the stairs and have a new lease of life.

Give me a loose saggy baggy healthy fit body any day Xmas Grin

Ha ha. Some very funny (and true!) observations.

I did that thing where you pinch the skin on the back of your hand for 10 seconds and you are the age of the number of seconds it takes to return to normal. According to this I am the world’s oldest living person Shock

unebaguettepastropcuite · 10/12/2020 14:16

OP, you are not alone. I lost 20kg (before I turned 40, by the way) and absolutely detest all the saggy skin, so much so that I considered just letting the weight come back on. You are allowed to feel miserable about that, but in the long term, you have done a good thing.

Whatever you do, never plank naked!

picklemewalnuts · 10/12/2020 14:17

@IrmaFayLear that's a dehydration test, I think!

Whydidimarryhim · 10/12/2020 14:17

Think of all the health benefits OP - reduced risk of stroke, heart attack, cancer and diabetes. You worked really hard on yourself.
I’ve 3 stone to lose since having my son 11 years ago.
You have probably given yourself an extra 10 years of life too.
Enjoy it. 😀

Bringbackthestrips · 10/12/2020 14:18

3 stone down and, at mid 40’s, I’ve gone from looking a lot younger than my years to aged pretty quickly. I suddenly have jowls & wrinkles, add the saggy wrinkly tummy and bum and I wonder why I bothered. Was I really so unhappy plump?

I wonder what would happen if I put another couple of stone back on, will it all fill out again? Does anyone know?

Walkingthedog46 · 10/12/2020 14:35

I’m sure you’re being too hard on yourself! Massive congratulations on such a fantastic weight loss.

NoSleepInTheHeat · 10/12/2020 14:36

My stomach looks like this after carrying twins if it can make you feel better.

Bellringer · 10/12/2020 14:40

Me too, it's really disturbing.
Better for our health, supposedly I look great?!?! Can't have surgery so have to get used to it, didn't think I was that body conscious but it bothers me a lot

Spongebobsquarefringe · 10/12/2020 14:43

Well done!! I lost similar amount and it’s scary. I’m hoping it will bounce back into place or someone will pay for me have it nipped and tucked lol

grool · 10/12/2020 14:44

Congratulations! 6 stone is an amazing achievement. I have lost 8 stone and I'm in my early thirties. If its any consolation I look like a melted candle with my clothes off 😩 I think I've reconciled myself to the fact I will never have a perfect body, but I don't plan to walk around naked except in the company of DP, and now I've lost the weight I look much better with my clothes on 😁 I bet you look bloody amazing OP!

CrazyToast · 10/12/2020 14:46

My ex was 20 stone and dropped it quickly when he was 21, had lots of loose skin on his stomach.

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 10/12/2020 14:49

This is unreliable. It has me at 3 years old but my neck, forehead and crows feet tell another story

MaelyssQ · 10/12/2020 14:52

Well done on your phenomenal weight loss! So you're a bit wrinkled, so what? You can wear gorgeous clothes and look fabulous. All us older women have turkey necks and flappy underarms, even the chubby ones amongst us. If it really bothers you, disguise it. I am very envious of your dilemma! And that wrinkly kitty is so damn cute.

QuietlyExcited · 10/12/2020 14:59

Well done on your weight loss. You must have been very determined. I hadn't lost any weight but had the turkey neck thing going on due to age and the beginnings of the dreaded jowls. Had a neck and lower face lift aged 55, and the results are really good. It's such a confidence boost.

ChristmasBigBalls · 10/12/2020 15:02

You have my sympathy OP. I lost a similar amount of weight. Three years later I saved for an arm lift (6k) I'm happy with it but I still don't look great naked. But..... in my 40s... I'm fine, not skinny but healthy looking.

Teddybear27 · 10/12/2020 15:04

Losing six stone is amazing. I am sure you look fantastic and your body will thank you. Surely you have less aches and pains and your family will be pleased that you are not heading for an early grave and you can have a few extra chocolates for Christmas! Well done.. 👏

MichelleofzeResistance · 10/12/2020 15:07

So frustrating for you Flowers but wow what an amazing achievement. In awe of your patience, willpower and persistence there OP, it is not easy to do.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 10/12/2020 15:11

Congratulations OP!

(If you only smile, you could look like this instead) Grin

LisaLee333 · 10/12/2020 15:15

LOL @JesusInTheCabbageVan Grin

timeforawine · 10/12/2020 15:26

Bloody well done OP and all of you that have had significant weight losses, i wish i had your discipline.
Question, is there a 'best' way to lose weight to minimise skin sagging?

HesterShaw1 · 10/12/2020 15:27

@Gwenhwyfar

"I'm 45 and have been inadvertently (it's certainly nothing I have done) slim all my life and am getting a turkey neck. Often just something you get with age."

Same here only a bit younger. Those 'necklaces' going around the neck, then some loose skin at the crease of the neck and a double chin :(
Necks just age easily don't they?

Yep, you have just described my neck!
LisaLee333 · 10/12/2020 15:27

@timeforawineProbably lots and LOTS of exercise!
