So far I have bought one present this year and nothing else, starting to really stress out about it now Blush

Honestly I've bought quite alot of presents but no I'm nowhere near done.

We have a biggish family to buy for (about 20 odd people)and I need to get a crack on.

I'm really behind on getting our food shop sorted out as well but I'm going to buy everything bar the fresh stuff this week.

We've just moved tiers in our area so that's going to make things more difficult but I love Christmas and I refuse to be beaten.

Good Luck with your Christmas plans Snooglemcdougal

Mollymillymolly · 30/11/2020 09:36

Yabu! It’s not even December. No one is allowed to say this until Dec 23rd IMO

TeenPlusTwenties · 30/11/2020 09:40

More or less.
I was so stressed with life earlier in the year, that when I started feeling better I got on with Christmas in case I relapsed.
But I also don't buy for 20 people!

Mrsjayy · 30/11/2020 09:40

It's the 30th of November honestly relax. We are in a. Local lockdown till the 12th so have ordered online but I'm not "ready" and Im not concerned or at all stressed. People are getting organized and putting trees up as a distraction.

Snooglemcdougal · 30/11/2020 09:42

We have 30 people to buy for not including dd, quite a lot of which needs to be posted hence the stress Smile

stonebrambleboy · 30/11/2020 09:43

Yes all done, presents posted to grandchildren. Cards ready to go in the post next week. I'm retired ( can't you tell, sorry!).Grin

triceratops12 · 30/11/2020 09:43

I am but I've noticed things I've ordered over the weekend aren't due for delivery for two weeks so that's making me anxious!

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 30/11/2020 09:44

I’m always this organised

House decorations nearly done ( we decorate loads of rooms to a greater or lesser extent)

All presents are bought/ordered, cards made and written ready to go out 80% of the food is here

Actually I’m lying...im not usually this organised with the food

But you do have plenty of time snoogle

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 30/11/2020 09:44

Have two birthdays as well 😩

Mintjulia · 30/11/2020 09:45

Nowhere near. I've bought main presents but I need to browse for stocking fillers and a few things for the house.

Some food in the freezer already and I've written cards this year, just need to get some stamps.

But wrapping & decorating, no Grin

listsandbudgets · 30/11/2020 09:46

I've bought a few presents and will probably go out tomorrow to buy the non perishables but beyond that no where near.
.

I don't seem to be feeling the Christmas spirit this year - perhaps because we won't be getting to see family (too complex with the 2 family household thing and in laws and so on never mind the travel involved)

I keep trying to force myself to do something... failing abysmally :(

glitterelf · 30/11/2020 09:46

I'm not fully ready and I've really stressed about it this year as we've had so much heartbreak and turmoil. This is the first year I've said I'm not buying for anyone outside out immediate family so that relieves some of the pressure.
Doesn't help it's my daughters birthday on the 10th so all focus right now is on her and making her day as special as it can be then we will get the decs out.
This year will just be about appreciating each other small and hopefully stress free.

UghNotThisAgain36 · 30/11/2020 09:47

All done here thanks to furlough. Not proud of it but I wanted to get it done before December madness descends. I could be called back to work the week before Christmas too. Just got to make one trip to meet my mum in a car park (socially distanced) to swap presents and I have Christmas cakes to decorate and arrange couriers for. Its been very joyless this year.

Retiremental · 30/11/2020 09:49

There’s a Christmas topic on MN somewhere I believe Wink

nosswith · 30/11/2020 09:49

Just need to get and write cards for those I send them to.

BiddyPop · 30/11/2020 09:51

No, I have some organised as lots needs to be sent by post/courier not hand delivered as usual. But I still need a number of presents and to finish making a few I had started months ago.

Last posting date for a good few of my cards is next Monday and I don’t have any written yet. So I need to get those done this week.

And we have no decorations up at all yet - I thought we would have started a few last week but we’ve all been too busy. I hope to get a few up next weekend, and buy a tree next weekend or the week after.

House is a state. No baking done (other than my first ever Christmas cake, which it turns out I did 6 weeks too early so hoping it’s not totally stale and dry...). And I don’t know if I have anything nice (not necessarily festive, just not plain jumper and jeans) that will fit for Christmas Day itself (Covid stone(s) and not enough exercise possible with restrictions and massive workload and WFH)

CMOTDibbler · 30/11/2020 09:53

I only have to buy for dh and ds, and dh does a lot of the buying for ds, so its not very complicated really.

LizzieMacQueen · 30/11/2020 09:54

Fairly organised, some of the family members are still working on their 'santa' list (she's 21!) but it's the food side that stresses me out.

Snooglemcdougal · 30/11/2020 09:57

I’m debating telling MIL that we’ll just go to hers on Christmas Day (I usually decline every year) but feel like we should this year so dd gets to spend the day with her aunts and uncles (they’re all from the same household) which she’s hardly seen this year even though they only live across the road

OP posts:
letsdolunch321 · 30/11/2020 09:59

Majority of presents got, wrapping needs to be done.

Cards written & posted, tree going up this coming weekend.

Some food in freezer, ticking off my list as I go.

VetiverAndLavender · 30/11/2020 10:00

I don't have many to shop for (5 people), but I haven't even started (except for one part of a gift that is handmade and is about three-quarters done). I'd love to be finished, but the reality is that it'll probably be down to the wire, as usual, waiting anxiously to see if something will arrive on time.

YellowandGreenToBeSeen · 30/11/2020 10:04

Nope. Only got 2 people to buy for and I don’t get any special food in (live alone). Bloody love how stress free Christmas is for me.

BookParsley · 30/11/2020 10:12

Advent calendars bought (1 sent in post), choc coins bought, found Xmas pud in a cupboard so I don't need to make more this year.

And that's it.

It's fine, it's not even December yet.

Mrsjayy · 30/11/2020 10:18

We have. Decided to either send gifts via Amazon or maybe d elivered local to dhs family who live in another UK country it's going to save us getting it delivered and then posting it.

Springersrock · 30/11/2020 10:24

Presents are done - I’ve ordered everything, just waiting for them to arrive now

Food - I’ve ordered a turkey from the butchers

No decorations up yet, but we never do until about the 2nd weekend in December

I need stocking stuff for the kids - they’re teenagers so Father Christmas brings pants/socks/fancy shower gel/etc

I don’t usually even start until December so I’m unusually organised this year. Feels weird 😂
