So far I have bought one present this year and nothing else, starting to really stress out about it now Blush

I’ve been surprisingly organised this year.
I only have 6 people to buy for plus DC2 has a birthday Christmas Eve.
All presents are bought and most are wrapped. We’re going to DDs for. Christmas (2 family Christmas bubble) so don’t need to worry about Christmas dinner.
We don’t collect our tree until 2weeks before Christmas but I’ve got some decorations in other rooms..
I think being in tier 3 lockdown(Scotland) has given me more time to do these things and internet shopping is great.

HunterAngel · 30/11/2020 10:24

All but one present is brought, I’m about halfway through wrapping. Only just started writing Christmas cards but I don’t send that many anyway. Just the food left to sort, especially since we’ve gone into tier 3 so chances of spending Christmas with family are vanishingly small, even those in our childcare bubble.

Nutrigrainygoodness · 30/11/2020 10:24

If Boris announced that Christmas had moved to tomorrow to try and catch covid out, everyone would have atleast 1 present and a the kids would all have a selection box, but it may not be wrapped. Dd would have all her presents. We would be eating frozen veg, soup and pasta. 😂

Crazybunnylady123 · 30/11/2020 10:37

All the main presents are ordered or here. Everything that’s arrived is wrapped. Tree went up yesterday.
Have a few snacks and freezer bits in.
Have to order a few things for baby’s stocking, few cards to post and food to sort.

Whammyyammy · 30/11/2020 10:42

All gifts bought and wrapped, decs up, never ever this organised, but its nice to be finished

Plonque · 30/11/2020 10:42

No. No I am not. Not even a little bit.

Someonesayroadtrip · 30/11/2020 10:44

Yeo pretty much done. I have a birthday present to buy for my FIL whose birthday is Christmas Eve. DH has been particularly unhelpful with that this year. I have to order a voucher for someone and send a box of chocolates to someone else, but everyone else is done, food is ordered with various people, kids presents are wrapped.

Few treats to buy but that's it. One of my children still have a birthday before Christmas (two others were last week) and he's done too.

Treaclepie19 · 30/11/2020 10:45

Not ready at all. I'm normally organised by now but just can't be bothered. I started yesterday so shouldn't take me too long (small family and making a donation instead of half of the presents for adults)

Simplyunacceptable · 30/11/2020 10:46

Have one gift left to buy but that’s it. Got the wrapping paper ages ago and the rest of the gifts are stashed in the loft. Got the tree, decorating tomorrow when the DC finish school. Ordered the food shop, managed to get a delivery slot somehow. So yeah, I’m ready now! It will provide some much needed relief.

wendz86 · 30/11/2020 10:46

Got a few presents left to get, mainly stuff like teachers presents, stocking bits. Decorations are up. Have booked a food shop for 21st Dec although I'm only hosting christmas eve anyway and it's just me and my parents as kids will be at their dads.

Almostslimjim · 30/11/2020 10:50

Pretty much. Only DM and 3 brothers to buy for, but they are all getting alcohol! I also need to do a trip to B&M and the like for a few stocking fillers, but all big gifts bought and wrapped, card bought and list of recipients made - writing them is tonight's job.

Food shop ordered from Asda and M&S, need to put the cheese order in when the shop reopens on Wednesday. That's it really.

Christmas decs up next weekend.

MadisonAvenue · 30/11/2020 10:52

Most presents are bought and the house is decorated but I’m really not feeling it this year. We never have a big family Christmas anyway so it’s not down to the fact that we won’t be seeing people we’d usually see. Just can’t be arsed with it this year.

LegoPandemic · 30/11/2020 10:53

Yes to an extent.
Decorations up, presents bought but not wrapped yet.
Cards ordered but not written.
Food delivery slots booked but need to write a shopping list and plan.
Plenty of time but I am ahead this year as decorations don’t normally go up this early.

speakout · 30/11/2020 10:53

No not ready, but happy to wait.

I am very busy with work, but will take a 3 week break starting aroun the 12th- and OH has a long break too- stops on the 14th and not back until January.
So lots of time in the week or two before christmas- will get organised then.

EmeraldShamrock · 30/11/2020 10:57

I have the DC clothes and toys, teacher gifts x 5 after that we do a family kindle €60 each that'll cost €120 probably another €150 on nieces and nephews I'm usually broke over Christmas no matter how early I start Grin

PigsInHeaven · 30/11/2020 11:00

There's most of a month left! I've bought one present and a tree. I would say that was actually ahead of where we usually are at this time of year.

CakeRequired · 30/11/2020 11:02

I've done most shopping, it's just little bits and pieces to buy now. Put up my tree, starting to buy snack stuff in my weekly shops (and hiding it). Wanted to get it done before deliveries start going to hell, which they probably will later in December.

LEELULUMPKIN · 30/11/2020 11:04

We've got all our booze.

I only drink at Christmas so it was important to make sure we had that first!

FuzzyPenguin · 30/11/2020 11:06

Yes all done but I am a planner and I don’t do well if I am not organised, plus I don’t drive so there was the worry about being able to get everything here in time.

SpamIAm · 30/11/2020 11:11

Presents all bought and wrapped, emergency turkey in the freezer, litre of baileys and tia Maria in the cupboard. No idea where we're actually spending Christmas yet though 😩

Mrsjayy · 30/11/2020 11:16

Emergency turkey ?

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 30/11/2020 11:18

I usually only buy for 3 people - DH and my two daughters. We only do token gifts as all three of them have birthdays in Nov-Dec.

This year we’re near to IL’s so they will have a gift each as well, but DH has sorted those.

I’m waiting on a few last gift items to arrive, but other than that I’m sorted. The food is also sorted - turkey and gammon joint were ordered at farm shop last month, foodstuffs from home (Denmark) have been ordered and some have already arrived. Veg box Christmas delivery will come on 20/12. Christmas cake was baked Sunday before last and has been fed twice. Mincemeat was made a couple of weeks ago. Christmas cards were due to be written yesterday but my DH unexpectedly had to go to hospital 😔 so that didn’t happen. But we’ll do them together when he gets home, or I’ll do them all if he’s too fatigued to do his for his family.

I need to pack up a birthday box for my daughter and a Christmas box of gifts and treats for my daughters to share, as we probably won’t be able to see them this year.

Today I will sit down & write out a few detailed lists to make sure I’ve got all the details well planned. It really helps to get it all on paper - if you’re stressing I would spend an hour or two making lists/bullet points, then work through those methodically in a way that makes sense to you.

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 30/11/2020 11:21

Oh we might not get our turkey this year because a local farm has had to do a huge cull. But if that’s the case we’ve got flæskesteg (Danish pork joint specifically cut to make excellent crackling) in the freezer, and I’ll also pick up a duck. I’d love to have goose (my favourite) but I’ve had my way for a couple of years so it was DH’s turn to choose.

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 30/11/2020 11:21

Everyone outside the house is done and posted Inc cards.

Neighbours are all bought and wrapped (just a couple who go above and beyond and an elderly couple). Cards for others all written and ready.

Christmas and New year Dinner except for fresh in freezer. Few treaty bits in the freezer too.

Just need to get the rest of the food and some more bits for mum and done!

HailFairy · 30/11/2020 11:28

Kids are done (ours plus the others we buy for).

Still need to do dh, my parents, whatever dh wants to do for his family.

M&S order is in (& looks like we’ll now have far too much as was hoping my parents would be able to join us but doubt they will now) but not the rest of the food... but it’s hard to plan when I still don’t know what our plans are.

I’m sure it will all come together. I normally love getting all organised but just not feeling it this year.
