So far I have bought one present this year and nothing else, starting to really stress out about it now Blush

Oh yes we have our booze done too. We always have quite a good selection of whisky so don’t usually need to order any of that. We might need to get a good bottle of cognac.

Have got rum to make a ginger cake, port for the cheese course, aquavit for the Danish Christmas dinner (I’m doing two dinners on different days), cherry wine for the Danish dessert course, bailey’s, calvados. Plus wine/beer of course.

I’m doing my deep clean and putting the decorations and tree up before dd comes back from nursery, she can help decorate the tree tonight Halloween Grin

BiddyPop

You can prick your cake and pour a few tablespoons of brandy over it to stop it becoming dry

I downloaded an app, wrote the lists on that and ordered everything online. Kids are done, relatives and friends done. Just need to get DHs and some stocking bits and pieces. I’m working from home so can take parcels whenever. Will spend time at the weekend wrapping and sending those presents for people far away. Having the bulk of it done allows me to relax a bit and browse in December but don’t panic- only took me an evening to do the ordering.

Plonque · 30/11/2020 11:51

Which app @Trousersareoverrated ?

garlictwist · 30/11/2020 11:54

I don't have many presents to buy. Done it all online, took an hour or so. Job done.

SpamIAm · 30/11/2020 11:54

@Mrsjayy not planning to have Christmas dinner at home, so emergency turkey is just in case we end up isolating over Christmas.

SpamIAm · 30/11/2020 11:55

I also have a lot of emergency pigs in blankets. Can't be too careful.

Mrsjayy · 30/11/2020 11:57

Ah good idea and. You always should have emergency pigs in blanketsSmile

ThatDamnScientist · 30/11/2020 11:58

Due to various issues we are always prepared for Christmas early, so we could definitely be done now (we need to buy for me and DH but not the end of world if we don't!). There are still things I want to buy and so will order online (we are currently isolating).

Ponoka7 · 30/11/2020 12:12

I'm all done, so are my adult children. It didn't make sense to all be rushing around the shops in December and worrying about getting deliveries on time. The sales have helped, as well as clubcard prices on alcohol. I've got cat food, tinned stuff and everything that I couldshop for in advance for December. I've only got to get fresh veg and my real Christmas tree.

SeaKingdom · 30/11/2020 12:20

No, of course not! We don't even know where we are going to be on Christmas Day.
We have ordered a small turkey (today) in case we are at home, just us. I have got both main presents for two DSs, and a few stocking fillers, and ordered a present for my sister and BIL, and DH. Otherwise I have presents to get for other sister, mum, dad, other BIL, three friends, two nephews and a niece, and more stocking fillers. Hope to do at least some of that from real shops after Weds. Also need to write and post cards (they are bought), plan what food we are having if we are at home, and make a list, and put some kind of plan in place to make Xmas day special if we are at home alone. I'm not stressed about it, there is plenty of time. Decs won't go up until around 18 Dec.

AdoraBell · 30/11/2020 12:27

I’m almost ready, only because I always start early. I used to love doing my Christmas shopping a couple of days before when I lived and worked in central London. I loved the buzz when I was younger. Since having DC I prefer to do it but by bit throughout the year. Non perishable food is already bought.

Groceries will be bought over the next couple of weeks. If I forget something I won’t be stressed.

LEELULUMPKIN · 30/11/2020 12:29

I've just opened a packet of emergency pigs in blankets!

That's lunch sorted :)

CorianderQueen · 30/11/2020 13:00

Having to post half of my gifts this year so I have a fair bit done, but still need to buy for a few people

Bluesheep8 · 30/11/2020 13:05
