AIBU to think and hope a cat caused this?

Been home alone all day with 5 month old baby.

Came upstairs to this, and the records were originally stacked on floor against blue dresser. I'm v freaked out right now and not normally a believer in spooky things so I'm hoping the non believers come out to tell me its the cat.

I just can't explain how the covers to the vinyl ended up opposite side of room!!

They're slippery. The cat probably sent them flying.
I once used my dad's records as skates. Got up a reasonable speed.

Which I wish I could have used to escape when he came home and saw! 😂

So yes, it'll be the cat.

BurningEars · 16/11/2020 20:14

Hmmm I don’t know if a cat would be able to get the records out of the sleeves.

Vilanelle · 16/11/2020 20:16

Im thinking if they were knocked, the records could have slipped out

OP posts:
VettiyaIruken · 16/11/2020 20:21

They slip right out.

mrsmrt1981 · 16/11/2020 20:25

Cat! My cats once managed to move the dog’s very large water bowl across the room by just dragging the mat that it was on. And they’ve knocked heavy china coasters off the table. I have a camera in my living to watch the DDog whilst at work so I caught them in the act! Never would have thought they would manage to move the water bowl but they worked as a team... 😂

Poppins2016 · 16/11/2020 20:28

100% the cat. We had a pile of records next to a chest of drawers and they'd go flying (same manner as yours) every time one of the cats used them as a springboard/landing. They got moved to the attic in the end... thank goodness! Grin

Poppins2016 · 16/11/2020 20:29

Ahem. The records got moved to the attic. Not the cats. GrinHalo

Vilanelle · 16/11/2020 20:32

Making me feel a bit better seeing these comments but how on earth did the sleeves end up beyond the baby sit me up!

maddiemookins16mum · 16/11/2020 20:38

Yep, it’s a cat.

mrshonda · 16/11/2020 20:40

You'd be amazed what a bloody cat can do. Mine is an evil genius.

RolandSchitt · 16/11/2020 20:48

Cats are bastards. Deceptively strong bastards.

Winniewonka · 16/11/2020 21:59

If they were stacked against the side of the dresser, it looks like the cat has landed on the round boxes in the corner with an almighty crash and its body has scattered the records in a panic!

WarmSausageTea · 16/11/2020 22:11

I’d say that’s cat work. Cats are endlessly inquisitive and surprisingly dexterous.

ViciousJackdaw · 17/11/2020 00:20

It was the spirit of Freddie Mercury trying to tell you, via the cat, to put his album on.

Changechangychange · 17/11/2020 02:25

It’s the cat.

But we haven’t had a “creepy noises in the attic” thread in months, so if you are bored OP, go right ahead, I’ll play along Grin

Idunnoyou · 17/11/2020 03:16

100% the cat don't worry yourself

Don't know how it happened, but that Dire Straits album is a cracker!
cate16 · 17/11/2020 04:12

My cat will sit on anything shiny magazine books and bash them around the room. She also like to clear my desk of any offending folders, plastic pockets etc.

Hollyhobbi · 17/11/2020 04:18

The cat. One of our two kittens knocked over and broke a heavy candlestick last week. They are very strong.

Mittens030869 · 17/11/2020 07:16

Definitely the cats. I have three and this habit sometimes really irritates my DH. 🤣

EatsFartsAndLeaves · 17/11/2020 10:35

One of the things I like about having a cat is that I don't bother getting freaked out by random spooky noises and stuff like this around the house, even though I live alone, because its probably just the cat.

KarmaStar · 17/11/2020 11:07

It's the cat!😀he wants a fuss so is attention seeking...🐈

TheQueef · 17/11/2020 11:12

Is that brothers in arms?

PhilCornwall1 · 17/11/2020 11:14

Yep.

This was also my first thought. The cat thing is a bit far-fetched, no offence.
