I find my DH really difficult to buy for. Not only that, I find my dad and my brother equally difficult. All the men in my family! I never know what to get them!

What are you getting for the significant other in your life this year?!!

Absolutely no idea.
Quite likely a book about Chinese porcelain or a new croquet mallet.
He’s had the mallet ordered for about 6 months but the maker is slow.
He has very niche interests

CodenameVillanelle · 15/11/2020 13:48

A kindle (he reads all his books on his phone), a vegan cookbook as he wants to learn how to cook more and I'm vegan and some bits from the modern toss site for his office (mug and poster)

There is a fab thread in the Christmas topic which has loads of ideas for awkward male members of the family.

I'll see if I can find a link.

porridgepamela · 15/11/2020 13:55

Some bread making bits including a special cloche for the oven to bake his loaves in - he’s a bit of a sourdough hipster

BettysSpaghetti · 15/11/2020 13:59

Go over to the Christmas section. There are some very long threads about what to buy DH’s with lots of ideas.

A krups beer sub and a couple of kegs to go in it, plus will put together some snacks for him to enjoy with it. He doesn’t “need” anything, and it’s the sort of thing he’d never buy himself

mrsbyers · 15/11/2020 14:21

His birthday is the week before and I’ve got him an Ooni pizza oven so for Christmas (we’ve agreed a smaller £100 budget) I’ll get him a couple
of bits linked to that , some Molton brown black pepper and a underground map of pubs around our city that he said he liked a while ago

Oh and a spring onion slicer - thanks James May !

Sn0tnose · 15/11/2020 14:48

I’ve got him a waterproof Ping golf bag for his main present with tees, a tee bag, a golf towel, a golf shoe bag and a golf umbrella to match, golf balls he can use, golf balls with the Incredible Hulk on that he won’t use, but really liked, polo shirts for golf (got to wear something with a collar), a board game, a couple of pairs of shorts, swim shorts, a couple of hoodies, some t shirts, slippers, beard stuff, aftershave, sweets, some Star Wars Lego, some posh note books and a nice pen, a rubber bracelet thing that’s got copper in it that’s supposed to do something or other, a mug, and I’m thinking about some boots if the ones I like are still in stock in his size on payday. I’ve also got him some little bits like socks, a pop socket for his phone, a nice tie, Star Wars air fresheners for the car etc for his stocking.

BrumBoo · 15/11/2020 14:54

I'm getting mine a new phone, however if may have to be an after-Xmas gift depending on when a payout I'm waiting for comes. We also want the PS5 if it ever comes back into stock in the next couple of months, but that's a big purchase. So will be looking at mainly stocking fillers this year, thick socks, a book, probably a new jumper. Maybe some durable stationary for work.

TheSunIsStillShining · 15/11/2020 14:55

a 70 cm Nici pig plushie.
A mug
no idea for the small tidbits.
We have everything. So neither of us, and teen! actually want/need anything.
We saved on holidays, now will save on xmas. Bahamas in a few years! :)

gretagreengrapes · 15/11/2020 15:00

It can be difficult to buy for each other especially when there's nothing you need. We aren't doing wrapped Christmas presents to each other, instead putting that money towards a sideboard we want. Might be boring to some but works for us!
