Is it me? I know society as a whole is going to shit and MN isn't all fields anymore , but today (and the last few days really) seems extraordinary even by anyone's standards.

Not TAATing but the OPs themselves are fine but then there are some totally fucking weird responses, as though they've read a completely different thread or just want to be a total twat because they can.

I know there are threads all the time as MN going to the dogs/not as funny as it was blah blah and I usually eye roll, but bloody hell it seems true atm.

Is it me? AIBU to think the level of fuckwittedness has risen dramatically very recently?

Yep, people seem to be being inflammatory and spoiling for a fight. They just want to nit pick the op and find any way of making them wrong . It's not the Mumsnet I used to enjoy. Maybe new users who are bored and unhappy stuck in lockdown.

I joined last year where I was constantly reading advice before I was a user, so I thought why not and I kind of think some users are really batshit crazy and need to chill. Some of their responses are just crazy and like someone said here that they nit pick, take it out of context and bully. They respond as if you have committed a mass murder, wtf? I think they just want to be a twat just because they can as they're on the internet and in real life probably would be too wimpy to get into any confrontation at all. Also I bet you anything that these crazy users were avid campaigners of #BeKind early this year!

I can't remember what the thread was called yesterday but some poor person lacked confidence in the kitchen, there was nothing about her post that was hand wringing or overly anxious, she was just checking out ingredients, and someone asked if she was ok, as if she must not be if she was asking such a question.

I'm bored with lockdown too, but can't be arsed name changing to troll. Weather isn't really good enough for getting out and 'making memories'.
