They've probably shot him with a tranquilizer dart @Yohoheaveho so hes in a special one with a presidential badge on it.

He's not giving up. Tweet from Trump 20mins ago.

He needs to have some self respect.

Where are the missing military ballots in Georgia? What happened to them?

They already mentioned it, they are still counting them

Lewis Goodall @lewis_goodall

Biden's lead in Pennsylvania continues to climb. Now at 12,390. That's a lead of 0.2%. Once it gets above 0.5% there is no automatic recount (and the moment I suspect the networks will call it).

Biden's team has announced that they will be making an announcement prime time this evening so, after 10pm sometime tonight.

Wonder if enough Pennsylvania votes will be in by then for it to be declared?

BlueCatRedCat · 06/11/2020 18:09

The next couple of months until he's finally gone will be arduous. He will go bonkers with exec orders. I can't see him agreeing the financial package needed for Covid relief. He will ramp up the spurious investigations with Bill Barr against Obama etc. I think he will fire Fauci out of pure spite, and let covid run rampant. He'll try to pardon as many criminals as he can. He will want to leave Biden with as big a mess as he can create.

I've been thinking about the White House permanent staff (the cooks, cleaners etc). It must have been very painful for them to go from the Obamas to the Trumps. They must be delighted at the prospect of getting Joe back. However, I wonder whether Trump, and his crony Bill Barr, will try to muzzle them with NDAs.

Jellykat · 06/11/2020 18:13

I'm hoping Trump will shortly spontaneously combust, and just leave his shiny shoes as a grim reminder..

@BlueCatRedCat, I don’t think Trump can fire Fauci as he’s not a political appointee. www.politifact.com/article/2020/nov/02/can-donald-trump-fire-anthony-fauci/

I didn't realise Biden ran for President in 1988

So is Trump still in power until January? That's a bit worrying isn't it... what if he does some crazy shit like start a war or something...

TimeIhadaNameChange · 06/11/2020 18:22

This is one of the few good reasons for having a monarchy. If Boris acted like Trump is HRH could sack him. I wonder if she would, esp if we had the same length of transition as the US? I'd hope so.

David Frost interviewed him at the time. His son has a podcast where they play old interviews, many of which have never been heard before - inc the Biden one - episode 6.

Yup, the Inauguration is held in mid-January.

Whoever came up with the idea of an outdoor ceremony in D.C. in mid-January was obviously a masochist! But yes, Trump can still do a lot of damage between now and then.

He could be impeached. Oh, wait...

Or article 45ed. Seems slightly more likely

My concern is that he'll use that time to either:

do something crazy or,

do nothing/spend his time blocking other people from working

If he just decides to refuse to work, can Biden step in early or even (as terrible as it sounds) Pence?

The thought of there being no real leadership until January whilst there's a pandemic going on is pretty scary.

Nancydrawn · 06/11/2020 18:32

He hasn't been to the daily pandemic planning meeting for months. It's already running on its own. Honestly, the best thing that could happen for the next three months is that he pouts in his private rooms/goes to Mar a Lago. I hate to imagine what he'd do if he decided to use the full power of his office.

TheNorthWestPawsage · 06/11/2020 18:32

I’m just realising how many people will be gone! Oh happy, happy day Grin
Jared
Ivanka
Stephen Miller

Pompeo
DeVos

Eric and wife

It’s always been that way and has worked fine for 200+ years.

But the previous presidents have all been relatively reasonable people.

And not that many of them have been ousted after only one term, so it’s not usually that much of an issue anyway!

Trump is the world’s worst loser.

I don't think she would. The monarchy works because she doesn't exercise the remaining power she had to intervene. What she could do behind the scenes on the other hand... (Not sure her successors will have the same soft /private power the Queen has built up over her long reign)
