@MorrisZapp

Are President and Vice President honorary lifelong terms? Lots of people calling Biden 'Vice President Biden'.

Sounds great but if so then Donald Trump will be entitled to be named President Trump until death?

Yup, it must be really confusing at those events attended by multiple ex-Presidents!
QuestionableDanceMoves · 06/11/2020 16:52

CNN have the senate as 48-47 to the democrats with 5 seats left to declare.

The two Georgia seats are looking to both be run-offs. Where are the other 3?

RedToothBrush · 06/11/2020 16:53

Alaska and NC probably.

EveryoneRevealsThemselves · 06/11/2020 16:54

Scott Dworkin:
Biden’s lead expands to 22,209 in Nevada, 8,867 in Pennsylvania. Most news orgs will likely start calling NV, PA and the election for Biden shortly. @DecisionDeskHQ has called PA and the election for Biden. I agree with their call. 100%.

QuestionableDanceMoves · 06/11/2020 16:54

Ah so they’ll be Republican. What happens if senate ends as a 50-50 tie assuming the democrats win the Georgia run-offs?

maggiethecat · 06/11/2020 16:55

Just heard CNN commentator Van Jones referring to the common phrase 'not being able to put the genie back in the bottle' as 'not being able to put the toothpaste back in the tube' 🤣🤣

Isn't it the VP who makes the deciding vote in ties?
maggiethecat · 06/11/2020 16:56

@QuestionableDanceMoves - the VP gets the deciding vote. Go Kamala Grin

DuncinToffee · 06/11/2020 16:56

Lewis Goodall @lewis_goodall

Biden lead in Pennsylvania now at 8,867.

The toothpaste one is a common phrase round my parts!

@AcrossthePond55

I'm only doing a teeny tiny happy dance. I can hear the orchestra but I haven't heard the fat lady yet.
This is suitably celebratory. And she's got great company!
QuestionableDanceMoves · 06/11/2020 16:59

@RedToothBrush @maggiethecat oooooo that’s brilliant!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 06/11/2020 17:03

Just finished work to hear cnn talking about a Georgia recount.

SunniCameHomeWithAVengeance · 06/11/2020 17:04

Could be an unfortunate camera angle but Trumps baldness appears to be quite prominent.

I have an advert for a Top London Divorce Lawyer on this page atm.

Today I have spent a huge amount of time catching up with this thread and following some of the links. And sitting on the edge of my seat.

Generally Presidents are referred to as such for life.
ThatIsNotMyUsername · 06/11/2020 17:08

On R4 they just referred to him as Mr Trump. Ooooooo....

Grrrpredictivetex · 06/11/2020 17:12

Sources close to Donald Trump are saying that they expect the defeated then former president to “boycott” Joe Biden’s inauguration
No surprise there.

"If you don't play my way I'll take my ball and go straight home!!"

You can bet your bottom dollar he'll watch it, if only to tweet he had more people watching his inauguration than Joe 😂

Roussette · 06/11/2020 17:13

She will make a fortune unless she has signed a NDA as part of her pre nup. Which she most likely has

There is no way she hasn't signed an NDA, she stayed away from the WH when he won to renegotiate her prenup. And look at Ivana Trump, she keeps schtum down to an NDA I would've thought.

As far as kamala Harris, I think she's stupendous (from what I know). She attends the hearings when there's a new possible appointee. Her and Betsy de Vos was something else. Incidentally how good it will be to see the back of her as Education Secretary.

I now find I am being brave enough to talk as if Biden has won. No 'IF he wins', a big step for me, always afraid I was going to jinx something!

Anniegetyourgun · 06/11/2020 17:15

Love this Greta getting her revenge tweet in

Revenge is a dish best served cold. Or in this case, chilled.

Roussette · 06/11/2020 17:16

In a way.. what a shame there won't be huge crowds in January for an inauguration. One that would knock the spots off of Trump's when he was neurotic and thin skinned about pushing theories of 'biggest crowd ever' and 'mine's bigger than Obama's' Grin
It will be a very different inauguration due to covid.

DuncinToffee · 06/11/2020 17:17

Biden lead has expanded again in PA. now at 9,746

MayYouLiveInInterestingTimes · 06/11/2020 17:17

There have been rumours about a partial retirement for Putin all year. Apparently he’s been passing laws that would aid him in that position.

After a terrible 2020, 2021 is looking brighter, I too can’t see Johnson lasting much longer. Perhaps we’ll get May back: I thought, perhaps innocently, that she did have a certain amount of decency for a politician.

nauticant · 06/11/2020 17:20

May struck me as someone who tried to do the job, Home Secretary, PM, to the best of her ability while Johnson has for decades been a "will this do?" type.
