US Elections - Trump or Biden, who will win?

655 replies

JustSaying101 · 03/11/2020 19:55

Intrigued to see who everyone thinks will win the current US presidential elections? I wouldn't personally vote for Trump, but I think he will manage to win another term. What do you think?

YABU = Trump will win
YANBU = Biden will win

For decades most states have been counting postal votes early and successfully keeping the results secret. It is a problem that was cracked long ago.

WitchesSpelleas · 04/11/2020 13:05

Biden seems to be staying about 12k behind Trump in Michigan Sad

JustSaying101 · 04/11/2020 13:20

Nailbiting stuff waiting for these results to trickle in! Have been following things on and off this morning but seems like there are still some key states to come in just yet. Currently 51% in favour of a Biden win here on MN but looking like it's going to be a very close one...

Sorry to be negative, but I think Trump’s going to win.

keeprocking · 04/11/2020 13:38

@Caroncanta

Can anyone on this thread, hand on heart, say that they think Biden is presidential material?

No. I think he's dreadful. I think trump's dreadful too. It's a choice between shit and shit. On the balance of shit, I'd take trump. It's a shit choice 🤷‍♀️

Of course he isn't and that's why it's so close, the Dems seem to be unable to take advantage of an open door, neither Clinton nor Biden were good choices but until they do get someone better they will continue to let the Reps in. 2024 will be someone with Trumps hand pulling the strings. even Ivanka's name has been mentioned.

He wouldn’t have started jabbering last night on Twitter is he thought he was going to win. The Poles have closed indeed.

MerchantOfVenom · 04/11/2020 13:45

Even through Trump is tweeting about ‘Poles’, Poland actually has nothing to do with this election.

I didn’t say that he thinks he’s going to win. But I think he’s going to win.

GrouchyKiwi · 04/11/2020 13:50

I think he's going to win too.

Viviennemary · 04/11/2020 13:51

I thought he said last night he had won. And if he does it's fraud.

Janegrey333 · 04/11/2020 13:52

I would be so happy to see Biden reach the magic figure. No one needs to be concerned about his “sleepiness blah de blah” when he - as ALL Presidents and leaders do - has a huge team of reasonably competent behind him.

The alternative to Biden makes me feel ill.

I know what you said. I disagree. The purpose of my response was to make me feel better.

He should have the word FRAUD branded onto his orange forehead.
WitchesSpelleas · 04/11/2020 14:14

Ooh, Michigan at 94% and Biden edged 10k into the lead.

Cross everything - if Biden wins in all the current states he's leading in, he will get the magic 270.

DP is convinced Biden has won. I'm not so sure, but hoping.

Okay, this latest news has changed my mind. I think Biden has won!!

WitchesSpelleas · 04/11/2020 14:55

It's difficult to say - it depends what order the results arrive in. Michigan and Wisconsin (Biden leading) are about 95% through their counting, but Biden would need to win another state before reaching 270. He's leading in Nevada but they're only 67% through counting (I think they stopped overnight).

Trump is leading everywhere else. Pennsylvania is a huge one (20 votes) but they're also not very far through counting due to a high volume of postal votes and a state law that says they can't start counting them in advance.

I doubt they will want to risk calling too early with Trump already crying 'fraud'.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 04/11/2020 15:17

Can anyone on this thread, hand on heart, say that they think Biden is presidential material

Of course he's not; anyone but Biden would have wiped Trump out completely - but then anyone but Trump would probably have wiped out Biden

No partisanship here, but it does worry me what'll happen if Biden wins when it comes to appearing on the world stage. I'd hoped the embarrassments would stop if Trump goes, but it appears not

safariboot · 04/11/2020 15:18

Biden needs Michigan and Wisconsin. If either of those go for Trump - and we should have a result later today but very likely to be a recount anyway - then Trump wins I reckon. Both still very marginal. I'm not hopeful about Penn, I think Trump's going to end up taking it.

PullTheBricksDown · 04/11/2020 15:36

@PullTheBricksDown

Nevada, Wisconsin and Michigan would get Biden to 270.
Quoting myself from earlier, but really hopeful now. That would mean Trump's lead in Pennsylvania, and all the associated issues with ballots there, wouldn't matter. 🤞
