All the Halloween and bonfire night stuff that’s just been stocked is behind a cordon. Presumably now destined for landfill.

Autumn half term after a shitty year and I can’t even do a few seasonal treats for the kids.

I don’t think it makes him a dictator, you might want to look up some actual dictators, I’m not sure Stalin or Hitler went through a 17 day ban on buying envelopes phase before they started their murdering but of course I could be wrong

Also, afaik, loads of the students are going home to England (taking cv with them!) because Wales is such an unpleasant place to be for the next 2 weeks. If he'd made it slightly less draconian people would be far more encouraged to comply.

I find it really sinister that this shops are doing this. And his reasoning is bollocks as you say OP, most people will go to Amazon. What about the people who don’t live near smaller shops? Or those who only use cash? Basically this just makes life even harder for mainly older or poorer people.

This. There is no evidence that the measures he has put in place will be more effective than what we had in March. For some reason he feels he has to outdo Boris in the buffoonery (I didn't even know that was possible) and Nicola in strictness of measures.

There was a time when I would have liked to live in Cardiff. Not while he's around.

I have no idea why eg the Gloucestershire police are humouring him.

But as someone pointed out to me on one of the other threads about this yesterday - don't underestimate the power of covid blackmail. If you're not with us you don't want to save lives or protect the NHS, and you do want to kill grannies.

How have the shops come to the conclusion that buying pens (which people need for work and education) spreads the virus but buying pizza does not?

It's a very odd position to take, but he does strike me as a bit of an odd man. If you're in the shop anyway, what difference does it make?!

And on the 17 days - NI said 4 weeks and it's barely started and Arlene Foster has already said it may have to be longer.

Yes! I was quite happy with all the rules as they were but this has tipped me over the edge.

Can't believe no one else in the Senedd Labour party tried to rein him in. Or maybe he really IS a dictator? Public relations disaster. No doubt Senedd elections will be cancelled next year 'due to covid'. If not, and Labour are voted back in then the Welsh truly are sheep.
