Why does DH keep a pair of trousers on the kitchen table?

I've just moved a pair of trousers which have been living on the table for the last few days. And bugger me in under 30 minutes a different pair of trousers have appeared on the table. Why??? He always seems to have something like this residing on the table. Is he the only one?

Have you asked him?

TheDuchessofMalfy · 17/10/2020 17:29

I don’t know why but that’s very funny!

VainAbigail · 17/10/2020 17:29

YABU not to just ask him!

gamerchick · 17/10/2020 17:30

Put them under his pillow. Lazy git

Say nothing, keep moving the trousers and see if he eventually says “why are you moving my table trousers??”

Nottherealslimshady · 17/10/2020 17:33

Mines the same. He like to spread all his stuff out though. He actually told me he didnt want a wardrobe because he doesn't like things "hidden away" Hmm

DameCelia · 17/10/2020 17:33

Put a slice of ham, garlic mushroom, frozen prawn or other similar item in them.
Hide all his other trousers in the boot of your car.
Sit back and wait.

elfycat · 17/10/2020 17:35

You need to put each pair of trousers in a safe location, hidden away. You might have something supernatural going on and the only way to be sure is to hide them and see if your DH runs out of clothing. You might have an interdimensional trouser wormhole or summat.

Cobumbo · 17/10/2020 17:36

So I asked him why they were there. He said "that was where I was standing when I took them off".

You're married to him, so presumably you've known him over 48 hours...how long has this been going on & why has it only just started annoying you??

Does he 'hoard' stuff? The

MJMG2015 · 17/10/2020 17:38

And the second pair?

Is he misunderstanding 'layering'??

MrsGrindah · 17/10/2020 17:38

Next time you serve dinner, lay the table with knife and fork either side of them. Then put his full dinner plate on top of them. When he comments.( please God he comments!) just say with wide eyed innocence “ What trousers?!”

Pogmella · 17/10/2020 17:38

Leave the table oily...

KetoPenguin · 17/10/2020 17:40

Weird does he have a bunch of snacks in his wardrobe?

Dp does this sort of thing, any side is seen as storage for random crap. His tidying consists of moving things from side to side

Mine's the same with food. Likes packets and tins out as it's a hassle looking in cupboard for them Hmm

Hopoindown31 · 17/10/2020 17:46

Emergency trousers. I don't know what the emergency would be...

Icanflyhigh · 17/10/2020 17:47

😂😂😂😂 emergency trousers, snacks in the wardrobe.... I am howling here!

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 17/10/2020 17:50

This is awkward. My DH does the same thing... but with jumpers.

Clearly they belong together. Sorry OP.

Hopoindown31 · 17/10/2020 17:54

Perhaps it is in case you rip them off him in a fit of passion and he needs to quickly don a pair to answer the door to the vicar?

I know it's not funny but it is actually is but what a stubborn he is.

DumplingsAndStew · 17/10/2020 17:56

Maybe he's mixed up the phrases "setting the table" and "dressing for dinner".

This is the answer!
