Frank McGovern
@FrankMcG
He is in several high-risk groups — elderly, obese, low-income.

Since he owns several golf courses, I wouldn't be surprised if he pops out for a quick 18 holes and claims "he remained on his own property while quarantining"

BruceAndNosh · 02/10/2020 11:11

How long does it take from test to result anyway? I mean, was this the result of a test he took six or eight hours earlier, and the result was rushed to him in the early hours?
Apparently White House had to brief Pence, McConnell and possibly Satan before they released the news to the media

Heffalooomia · 02/10/2020 11:19

By all accounts he is asymptomatic does that mean he still could get organ damage though?
His organs will all be replaced by burgers by now won't they🤔

BruceAndNosh · 02/10/2020 12:00

Is this the "October surprise" that Trump kept promising?

BruceAndNosh · 02/10/2020 12:34

The way Trump was ranting on Tuesday, his spittle could have easily reached Biden, Wallace and the entire audience

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 02/10/2020 12:56

Let's just hope he was not actually infectious on Tuesday evening, eh? If he is being tested all the bluddy time, which we have been given to understand that he is I think the polite phrase is "several times a day" he will have tested negative a fair amount between Tuesday evening and Thursday evening.

Lweji · 02/10/2020 12:57

Kind of a serious question.
If a candidate dies before the election, or shortly after, what happens?

And if both died? Shock

AcrossthePond55 · 02/10/2020 13:03

I don't believe it, neither does DH. He's going to come out of this saying "it's just a flu, see I told you" and/or touting remdesdivr and hydroxy-chloro-whatever-it-was.

I forgot about the 'BoJo bump'. Yeah, Scrotus is counting on this too end the 'Trump slump'.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 02/10/2020 13:07

If it is for other things than President, the election goes ahead, and the candidate may win in spite of having been dead for three weeks. Or at least, that's what happened a couple of years ago. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/nov/07/dennis-hof-nevada-senate-what-happens-now

If they both died I suspect the vice-president from the winning side would become POTUS, so let's hope it would not be Pence.

There is nothing in the Constitution about this. Generally speaking, the Party of the deceased candidate picks a replacement. And they are NOT bound to pick the VP candidate, although this close to an election I'm sure that's what would happen

The closest thing to this is Horace Greeley dying in 1872. But in this case his death was between the election and the electoral college vote AND he'd already lost the election to US Grant. The Elector votes for Greeley were disregarded.

What I don't get is this...

He has talked again and again, that it's just like the flu, it will disappear, hardly anyone gets it badly, it's not serious.

His followers take that on board and revolt against wearing masks and basically go to Rallies and carry on life as normal, and say the Libs invented it to win the election type thing

Now he's got it.... surely they must realise no one is invincible, he is protected like no one else in the world, yet he's got it... so they could. Or are they so stupid they can't join up the dots?

OMG

It's all about the $$$ isn't it.

Is this the real reason he has supposedly got covid?

How low can you go. Using this to beg for money...

Donate to help him recover? FFS.

Is anyone falling for this?
Recently, it was reported Biden was doing very well while Trump had trouble getting donations.

It won't help that he's been asking for campaign donations since 2017. And the recent news of fund misappropriation.

Lweji · 02/10/2020 14:19

There's an actual thread asking pps to pray for DJT and Melania. Grin

Roussette · 02/10/2020 14:27

A gracious tweet

Joe Biden
@JoeBiden
Jill and I send our thoughts to President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump for a swift recovery. We will continue to pray for the health and safety of the president and his family.

On a side note, I'm glad he hasn't posted about Chrissy Teigen's baby. She's often a target. Sad
He wouldn't be gracious at all.

Roussette · 02/10/2020 15:08

Please note... the Trump/Pence covid fundraiser. I am now not 100% sure it is legit.
I took it from a legitimate source and they are investigating further.

I can do irony big time.

news.yahoo.com/trumps-family-evidently-refusing-wear-012700203.html

It was a condition of attendance at the Debate on Tuesday that all attendees wear masks, and be tested prior to being there
All on Biden's side wore masks
All of Trump's family, to include the sons, Lara, Kimberley, Tiffany etc refused to wear masks despite being asked to as they were sat there.

Karma maybe coming...

One member of the Trump family posted a Ready to Go! photo on social media of them all wearing masks before they entered the hall. They all took them off as soon as were seated. That item mentions Melania wearing a mask - she entered last separately from the Ivanka generation, and I am not sure if she wore her mask once seated.
AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 02/10/2020 16:11

She wasn't wearing it when she went up to Trump after the "debate" had finished, was she?

Lweji · 02/10/2020 16:38

If Trump has already experienced small strokes, he should be high risk with COVID, given that clots are often reported.

if he is indeed infected

Lweji · 02/10/2020 16:40

She wasn't wearing it when she went up to Trump after the "debate" had finished, was she?

She kindda socially distanced from him Wink, but probably not enough.

I think either of them is more likely to have caught it from someone else, particularly if they have tested as often as they said. There was a Twitter discussion about it.

The answer to your final question there is yes, @Roussette. These people are cretins, with apologies to any cretins reading this.
