WR doctors can't shackle him to the bed, unless he's a danger to others or himself.
Oh, wait...

JamieLeeCurtains · 06/10/2020 10:40

@longwayoff

"Mussolini moment". I look forward to the day he meets a similar end.
More likely to 'do a Stalin' - dies of a stroke, aged 74.

And gets parodied by Armando Iannucci.

yetanothernamitynamechange · 06/10/2020 11:03

The daily mash predicted this... www.thedailymash.co.uk/news/international/trump-to-be-even-more-of-a-prick-if-he-gets-through-this-okay-20201005201164

(and yes I know he isn't "through it" yet. But any ideas he might take the virus more seriously now have been rather well squashed)

JamieLeeCurtains · 06/10/2020 11:09

Where's the Praetorian Guard when you need them?

Heffalooomia · 06/10/2020 11:11

mobile.twitter.com/TomJChicago/status/1313420703048314881
according to Tom Joseph trump removed his mask not to be provocative but because he was experiencing respiratory distress

longwayoff · 06/10/2020 11:29

You have a point @JamieLeeCurtains, recent days have reminded me of the last days of Russian leaders. Armando Ianucci may yet see us through this. Something needs to.

pinkbalconyrailing · 06/10/2020 11:35

the clips of him breathing hard are (almost) heartwarming.
I have asthma, not being able to breathe is very frightening. and this hard breathing will leave him with muscle ache that will make coughing incredibly painful.

Nomnomarrgh · 06/10/2020 11:51

Will people be allowed to have the party like they apparently had after Thatcher dropped dead?

Roussette · 06/10/2020 12:05

See.... I don't feel like that. I want him to live, to be trounced at the election and to face the increasing number of law suits he will be facing.

If he were to die, god forbid, I think it would be an awful thing for the world, for the US, and I for one would just be reflective and sad at how one man can do so much damage.

CaveMum · 06/10/2020 12:34

I don’t want him to die either, just suffer in a prolonged and painful manner.

If he dies he’ll be a martyr for the American Right - St Donald!

Zug2 · 06/10/2020 12:45

This one from the Lincoln Project has quite the impact, it took me by surprise.

BruceAndNosh · 06/10/2020 12:45

@thesunwillout

He said 'maybe I'm immune, I dunno'

No you have it, you total imbecile.

What's the guessing he will ban masks in his presence in the White House. Now that he's had covid, they will be deemed "unnecessary"

Fuck this for a game of soldiers, no one will have beaten covid better than him blah blah blah.
I'm sorry but I really hope he has a bloody relapse and ends his days as one of those sad old men on a mobility scooter with a mini oxygen tank in the basket

Sophiafour · 06/10/2020 13:08

@BoreOfWhabylon Won't make any difference, though. Although it might keep a few more toupee makers in business for a while.

BruceAndNosh · 06/10/2020 13:10

I know Trump's strategy is to fall back on "his" Supreme Court to rule in his favour if he doesn't win fairly. But even if he has a conservative majority, can we really believe that SCOTUS would opt to overturn a democatic (small d) election in a country that has put democracy as one its central pillars? It would essentially be overturning true democracy for decades to come, when hopefully Trump is a distant "what the fuck were we thinking" memory

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 06/10/2020 13:27

This was educational, for me at least.

What's keeping WH staff from quitting?

I'd call in sick at the very least.

lack of employment rights? fear of the mob?

An insider from the WH had said that they were actively discouraged/told not to wear masks in the WH. Because it was an insult to the POTUS Hmm

He's wittering on that you don't need to be scared of coronavirus cos we've got all this marvellous treatment. How many sick people in USA got one of the treatments he received? Let alone all three?

JamieLeeCurtains · 06/10/2020 14:46

It's eerily reminiscent of the narratives around the Emperor Nero, thinking he was the greatest opera singer in the Graeco-Roman world, the incestuous familial script, the nepotism, the inherited wealth and power, the actual lack of talent.

And being the end of the lineage, thank the gods.

Roussette · 06/10/2020 15:49

From NY Times...
'The White House has decided not to trace the contacts of guests and staff members at the Sept. 26 Rose Garden celebration for Judge Amy Coney Barrett, where at least eight people, including the president, may have become infected'

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 06/10/2020 15:59

I wonder whether they have beefed up the medical facilities inside the WH.

They could provide ITU care there, and Trump could save face and hand over the heavy responsibility of tweeting in capitals to any number of people.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 06/10/2020 15:59

Maybe the guests and staff might do it for themselves, if they are fond of or even do not actively dislike the people they have had contact with.

AcrossthePond55 · 06/10/2020 16:10

28 Days until Election Day (under one month!!!)
106 Days until Inauguration Day

There is really nothing I can think of to say that's bad enough to actually express the way I feel about Covid Don's actions and attitude. He makes Typhoid Mary look like Mother Teresa.

When DS2 was exposed, we were told by our Dept of Health that EVERYONE who had had contact with a known positive person is to quarantine for 14 days. No exceptions. They told us that DH & I didn't have to since we were not directly exposed, but that it would be a 'good idea' to do so, or at least restrict our public activities as much as possible, which we did.

I'm back to square one. Either he never had it in the first place and is using a fake diagnosis for PR and political purposes or he is one of the most callous and narcissistic people on the face of the earth.

On second thought, it may just be both.

BruceAndNosh · 06/10/2020 16:14

It's quite convenient for White House to have a depleted Press department at the moment. No one to field difficult questions
