To ask the woman next door to keep it down a bit?

BastardBiscuits · 13/09/2020 16:30

Woman next door is always out in her garden doing training exercises with her dog. She films herself doing this (mutual neighbour told me this bit, we don’t know why she’s filming it). Anyway, last week she was out there screaming “FIND MONKEY!!!l” whilst running around the garden manically, dog furiously running around trying to find the bleeding monkey whilst she’s getting more and more animated and “loud” by the minute.

Yesterday she started shouting “BANG!” - peering out of the bedroom window it appears that she’s trying to teach the dog to play dead. This went on throughout the day. I was out there this morning and she had progressed to “BANG!” and “COME ALIVE!”.

Now it’s absolutely ridiculous, she’s running at the dog making LOUD machine gun noises, the dog flops down “dead” and then she screams “OH MY GOD!! WHAT HAVE I DONE?? Please .... COME ALIVE!!”. Dog springs to life and she casually goes to turn off what I now know to be a video recorder.

It’s the intensity of it that’s getting me, it’s absolutely crazy the way she goes off. I was on the phone earlier in my living room and my mum could hear the bloody screaming that’s how bad it is. I want to ask her to keep it down a bit as some of it is quite distressing to anyone not knowing it’s dog training. But WIBU to do so?? I’ve spoken to her briefly before but I don’t know her well.

Definitely thought this thread was going to be about loud sex

Aquamarine1029 · 13/09/2020 17:00

You can try talking to her, but she sounds unhinged, honestly.

Harrykanesrightsock · 13/09/2020 17:01

Could well still relate to sex noises 🤣

"Find monkey"
"Come again"
"Oh my god"

Mrsjayy · 13/09/2020 17:06

BGT auditions ? Poor dog being shouted at i can imagine a shrill FIND MONKEYGrin

sitckmansladylove · 13/09/2020 17:08

She sounds nuts. A few of you could ask her together. Its no way to live.

ChristmasSnowball · 13/09/2020 17:08

slipperywhensparticus · 13/09/2020 17:11

Just keep shouting BANG over the fence

Jobseeker19 · 13/09/2020 17:12

I think I would shout shut up really loudly

SillyCow6 · 13/09/2020 17:14

I think everytime she shouts BANG Id have to follow it up with "and the dirt is gone" really loudly a la Barry Scott.

Elieza · 13/09/2020 17:15

Shite sandwich routine.

I’d (smile and be all happy) ask her if she is training her dog for a competition, remark how cool that is. I hope you win. That’s awsum ...

And then mention I’m working from home and it’s really loud and people can hear it when I’m on the phone/Skype work calls and any chance she could keep that in mind while she’s training him. Thanks so much.

Then nice stuff again. Do you think you might be on TV how cool is that. The dogs really clever. You’ve trained him really well. Good luck. Keep me posted (smiles again, all happy).

(Prepare the line : No I’m not in social media sorry, I don’t have time I’m so busy with work..just in case she’s wanting to send you something or get you involved)

Tik tok...for sure

JamieLeeCurtains · 13/09/2020 17:15

You could interfere with her 'training', and when she whinges about it, tell her to invite the Council and the Police to come and adjudicate the matter.

You're not going to lose.

BewilderedDoughnut · 13/09/2020 17:15

This is what it’s like for people who have to live next to children. Only a million times worse!

MsKeats · 13/09/2020 17:23

I would report to the council. They will send her a letter. Plenty of parks she can go to.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 13/09/2020 17:25

Do you have anything that makes an annoying buzzing noise, like a hedge trimmer or a lawn mower? I would look out the window at her noise and that would make me notice a hedge that needs trimming urgently. Grin My neighbour sometimes leaves her side gate open and it moves in the wind, the hinge squeaks and the gate sometimes bangs into the frame, that would also be an annoying background noise for filming.

Bergerdog · 13/09/2020 17:26

I would just tell her. She’s probably not realised.

You do have to get quite animated to keep the dogs motivated- I’ve done competitive obedience and the more hyper the better as far as the dogs are concerned Grin

vodkaredbullgirl · 13/09/2020 17:28

Thought you meant loud sex as well lol

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 13/09/2020 17:29

Or leave a nice bit of liver beside the fence on your side. The dog won't listen to a damn word she says if he smells that. Grin

Notapheasantplucker · 13/09/2020 17:31

Bet she's doing it for Instagram.

Yes dogs have their own Instagram accounts, including mine Grin

mumwon · 13/09/2020 17:31

practice opera offkey & loudly every time she does this

ShastaBeast · 13/09/2020 17:32

Is she training the dog to work in TV/film?

NotCommuting · 13/09/2020 17:33

A grown woman running round the garden making loud machine gun noises? Grin Grin You should do some filming of your own OP!
