To ask the woman next door to keep it down a bit?

BastardBiscuits · 13/09/2020 16:30

Woman next door is always out in her garden doing training exercises with her dog. She films herself doing this (mutual neighbour told me this bit, we don’t know why she’s filming it). Anyway, last week she was out there screaming “FIND MONKEY!!!l” whilst running around the garden manically, dog furiously running around trying to find the bleeding monkey whilst she’s getting more and more animated and “loud” by the minute.

Yesterday she started shouting “BANG!” - peering out of the bedroom window it appears that she’s trying to teach the dog to play dead. This went on throughout the day. I was out there this morning and she had progressed to “BANG!” and “COME ALIVE!”.

Now it’s absolutely ridiculous, she’s running at the dog making LOUD machine gun noises, the dog flops down “dead” and then she screams “OH MY GOD!! WHAT HAVE I DONE?? Please .... COME ALIVE!!”. Dog springs to life and she casually goes to turn off what I now know to be a video recorder.

It’s the intensity of it that’s getting me, it’s absolutely crazy the way she goes off. I was on the phone earlier in my living room and my mum could hear the bloody screaming that’s how bad it is. I want to ask her to keep it down a bit as some of it is quite distressing to anyone not knowing it’s dog training. But WIBU to do so?? I’ve spoken to her briefly before but I don’t know her well.

I innocently signed up to a dog training/behaviour forum after rescuing a dog.

‘Sexier than a Squirrel’

Bonkers. Totally manic, hyped up exercises I couldn’t keep track of. I did try once in the garden. The dog just looked at me and did a poo, then retired to his bed. Maybe she’s a Sexier than a Squirrel fan?

There's a lot of fun to be had with a silent dog whistle OP!

DblEspresso · 13/09/2020 18:55

Sounds like someone trying to make a TikTok video and hoping it goes viral. Pet videos are quite popular, especially if they involve some funny/weird animal behaviour.

Chloemol · 13/09/2020 18:59

Just shout back shut up, each and every time

Arthersleep · 13/09/2020 19:04

Ong I so wish to be a person playing theater with a dog like this, running around with pretend machine guns and resurrection😂

Incredibly impressive she taught the dog so quickly.

..... How do you know that she's not actually gunning them down and just replacing them daily? 😉

Well this certainly isn't what I expected from the title 😂 She sounds bonkers

VivaMiltonKeynes · 13/09/2020 19:09

Maybe the dog is a pet model ?

SchadenfreudePersonified · 13/09/2020 19:44

@SebastianTheCrab

Definitely thought this thread was going to be about loud sex
Me, too.

Life is full of disappointments . . . Sad

FippertyGibbett · 13/09/2020 19:48

If it was kids playing you wouldn’t be allowed to say anything.
My dog can’t bark occasionally apparently, but their kids can be out in the garden screaming at 7am.
When mine were little I stupidly kept them in the house until 9am at weekends so they didn’t disturb the neighbours.

Elderflower14 · 13/09/2020 19:49

Another one here who thought it was about wild rampant sex!!
When my lovely Bumbledog died last year we got a lovely card from our neighbours saying in a nice way thankfully that they would miss hearing me roaring at his indiscretions in the garden.. ♥ ♥

billybagpuss · 13/09/2020 19:50

Ok gun dog training, every time she shouts bang blow a dog whistle 3 times and throw a dog biscuit over the fence, she’ll soon retreat indoors.

My dog is shit at playing dead, it’s too long away from the treats.

CatAndHisKit · 13/09/2020 20:10

hilarious! Grin

Yes, def ask her not to do is as often as this - I'd find it a laugh for 5minutes, but not all day long!

anxiousanna75 · 13/09/2020 20:26

I wish we had such entertaining neighbours! Mine are boring in comparison. It would certainly liven things up a bit.

KeepOnMovingForwards · 13/09/2020 20:31

She sounds mental. It will be too cold for her to be arsed soon, hopefully.

Staffy1 · 13/09/2020 20:47

I admire people like that, who have the confidence, or lack of inhibitions, to do what they want (within reason). I'm totally the opposite and would feel like a complete arse doing that.

earthyfire · 13/09/2020 20:47

You need to get out in your garden and make her aware you are there, open your doors, bang about a bit. It might make her realise she's not the only one who likes to use their garden.

movingonup20 · 13/09/2020 20:51

How often and for how long - 20 mins twice a day no problem, 3 hours solid is totally unreasonable. The kids over the back are noisy 12 hours a day, I'm sure it's not that much!

Arthersleep · 13/09/2020 20:53

Please drill a small hole in the fence and covertly film her. Then upload to YouTube and post a link here! 😉

Ernieshere · 13/09/2020 20:55

Hide a speaker in the garden & play that really shit song - "bang, bang, he shot me down" really loud.

Or I shot the Sherrif

My eyes are watering as Im laughing so much, I need to get out more

Badger2033 · 13/09/2020 20:59

Omg, no YANBU this would drive me bonkers BUT it is absolutely hilarious. WTAF is up with some people 😂

AfterSchoolWorry · 13/09/2020 21:03

@JalapenoDave

My guess is that she is an "up and coming" YouTuber...
Yep.
BatShite · 13/09/2020 21:06

Ha, the OP was rather unexpected from the title Grin

She sounds crazy, and this woud both piss me off and amuse me. Maybe more towards pissed off once the novelty wore off though..

Mojocafa · 13/09/2020 21:17

Is the dog a German shepherd by any chance?

NotCommuting · 13/09/2020 21:20

For the last few hours I've had a very old pop song buzzing in my head - BA Robertson Bang Bang, and driving me mad. And now I've seen this thread again I realise why it popped into my head!

Cheers OP - I hope you are old enough to remember that song and now have going round too!
