School run and mask wearing

1st day back at school and forgot to take my mask! No other parents I saw were wearing them. Will take mine at pick up and from now on every time I do school run. But I can't understand why so many parents are not SD and I didn't see anyone wearing a mask. ( BTW it's Primary so children dont HAVE to wear one). Are parents wearing them at your schools?

There are on or two wearing them but no more than that. I certainly don’t wear one.

Marmaladey · 09/09/2020 10:21

A couple are. I’m not finding it difficult to stay 2m from people at all so I’m not. Our school is using multiple entrances and staggered starts so it’s a bit easier to keep a distance.

Florencex · 09/09/2020 10:21

You don’t need to wear a mask outside.

Frogsareawesome · 09/09/2020 10:21

90-95% of parents are wearing them at our primary

VainAbigail · 09/09/2020 10:22

People not wearing them because they’re outside?! And no, parents aren’t wearing them at any of my kids schools.

SilentSally · 09/09/2020 10:24

1st day back at school and forgot to take my mask!

🙄

Has your school asked parents to wear masks? It's really not necessary.

Makegoodchoices · 09/09/2020 10:27

No masks at our school - precious little social distancing either, most of the parents are of the ‘bored now’ = ‘no further risk’ mentality.

Potterpotterpotter · 09/09/2020 10:27

You don’t need to wear one outside.

No one is wearing one on the school run in my village.

ceeveebee · 09/09/2020 10:28

No one is wearing masks at our primary as drop off is at the gate ie outside so no need to wear a mask?

ChesterDrawsDoesntExist · 09/09/2020 10:28

All our parents stay outside and drop off in the street so no, no mask wearing.

lifesalongsong · 09/09/2020 10:30

I don't have to do a school run anymore but no way would I be wearing a mask outside, totally unnecessary, keep your SD and there's no risk

EsmereldaMargaretNoteSpelling · 09/09/2020 10:35

Having walked past our primary fairly frequently at drop off and pick up the past few days, the parents are not wearing masks. However they are also not social distancing at 2m to allow that, and most of them are not even 1m apart at which they should still be wearing masks as well.

I do wear a mask more out and about now because it's frankly impossible to maintain 1m properly in town let alone 2m. It's the single most important thing we can do, especially in light of this morning's news.

nuggles · 09/09/2020 10:36

My DS's school sent a message to all parents strongly suggesting to wear a face mask because the head observed people obviously aren't social distancing.

About 15/90 parents are wearing them. I am due to health reasons. All teachers are wearing them on drop off/ collection at my sons school

Merinocool · 09/09/2020 10:37

I haven’t seen any parents at our school wearing a mask, the head teacher and a few other teachers in the playground were. We have staggered drop off and pick up times and I’ve been more than 2m from people at all times so I don’t intend to wear one.

Batshitbeautycosmeticsltd · 09/09/2020 10:40

You don't need to wear one outside. YABU.

Vanillaradio · 09/09/2020 10:40

No because I am outside and socially distancing Currently masks are not required in these circumstances.

anothernamereally · 09/09/2020 10:42

We've been told we are not 'allowed' to wear them on school grounds Confused

ExclamationPerfume · 09/09/2020 10:44

If you aren't going inside the school building you don't need a mask.

frustratedstep · 09/09/2020 10:45

No I'm not and I won't be. I find them uncomfortable at the best of times I can't be faffing with a mask while picking my 4 kids up.
I keep my distance from others.

ThatDamnScientist · 09/09/2020 10:46

We have to, primary but parents are required to where on the premises (inside and out) and encouraged to outside the gates due to congestion.

weneedboujiecocktails · 09/09/2020 10:46

Not one wearing a mask at our primary school.

ThatDamnScientist · 09/09/2020 10:46

Oh I should say I agree with the school requiring masks.

Mcmole · 09/09/2020 10:46

A few people have been wearing them at pickup but not many. We're in a socially distant queue that then moves through the playground picking up the kids who are all in separate groups. It's working well and everyone's kept at a distance so we don't need masks.

kerrymucklowe2020 · 09/09/2020 10:48

Only if SD is observed. Which it's not
