We're not near the fires, North. But the skies are creepy, brownish-grey with smoke and the sun is just a dull orange ball (like Scrotus) in the sky. The winds are keeping the smoke aloft during the day so it doesn't smell smoky, but it's still a bit hazy. The smoke 'settles' overnight so it's stinky and 'chokey' in the mornings, though. We've checked with our loved ones and no one is in danger. I think this is our worst fire season on record to date. It's smoky from one end of the state to the other and I don't think there's a region in the entire state that doesn't have a fire somewhere in it.
Gov Newsom is walking a fine line in not criticizing Scrotus to get us federal aid for firefighting & recovery. Although last month Scrotus threatened not to give aid to California because 'we didn't clean our (forest) floors, aid has been granted.

So, now we have the one-two punch of the military disparagement and the tapes showing Scrotus knew the seriousness of the virus. God, I hope some of this 'sticks'. And I'm hoping there are more 'strategic' releases of books and/or information.
I will say that the dearth of Scrotus ads does have me a bit concerned. I worry that they're holding some really horrible lies ads against Biden for release nearer the election.
