AIBU to ask if anyone has a Dryrobe and if so, are they worth the money? Really want one but at £130 I'm struggling to justify the expense.

(Sorry for the boring AIBU!)

DS has a yingfa one- used it for open water swimming in previous years. I think he’ll be using it after swim squad training in a few months if the changing facilities stay shut. It’s fine coming out in wet jammers an a pair of shorts now, might be less fun in October!
Anyway, it was great for cold days beside the lake.

I have a Moonwrap - cost about £60. Most of my sea-swimming pals have the 'official' Dryrobe but they seem exactly the same to me.

@Pippioddstocking

Best purchase ever!! Even wear it to walk the dog on a cold wet winters night. Makes me look like a dog walking wizard though 😂
@Pippioddstocking

That’s hilarious. Grin I’m afraid we’re going to need to see photographic evidence though. Wink

Would you recommend long or short sleeve?

Theyweretheworstoftimes · 12/08/2020 23:07

Right, you have convinced me, been looking at them for ages!!

Swimbikerunmummy · 12/08/2020 23:22

Love my dryrobe! I don’t use it in the summer but it was a game changer for autumn and winter sea swims. Worth every penny.

megletthesecond · 12/08/2020 23:25

I'd get one if I swam in winter. Although as someone has already said, I'd worry about it being nicked.

I've got a thick Saltrock changing robe instead. I could live in the thing Blush.

InvisibleWomenMustBeRead · 15/08/2020 18:43

Thanks all - have ordered the short sleeve given all how feedback! Looking forward to receiving it!

I Saw a lady wore a dryrobe Parker in my local Waitrose and fell in love. How does the sizing work? If your a dumpy 5ft overweight dwarf?? Ha ha

Lowhangingfruit · 01/11/2020 14:51

Worth it???

Outdoor Swimming Society have done some reviews of various changing robes here:

I got this Zone3 parka in navy and orange earlier in lockdown. It's great but appears to be sold out now.
