(LIGHT HEARTED)

Just that really.

I think my favourite was fairly recently - CV related and one of the first responses to was “You dh is literally trying to kill you” (along the lines of not wearing a mask in the shops).

OP posts:
Proudboomer · 30/06/2020 19:53

Op is having trouble with their neighbors.
Within the first couple of posts some bright spark will pipe up “just move” as though everyone one has a few spare KKK that they can spunk away on moving costs.

Frokni · 30/06/2020 19:55

@babychange12 please remind me?

This is a great thread OP!

I agree with PP re the threads that escalate from "my kid has nits to "reporting you to SS" they do make me lol.

Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies · 30/06/2020 19:56

I once said that just because you don’t like your MIL, SIL or whichever IL was being written about, doesn’t mean that they’re narcissistic. I suggested that mutual dislike was a more realistic possibility.

Apparently this means that I am clearly a classic narcissist Grin

ilovesooty · 30/06/2020 20:00

@EinsteinaGogo

Every post such as 'I just spat tea all over my keyboard' or 'literally just woke DH up from laughing' feels OTT to me!
And posts where people claim to be "howling".
Coldilox · 30/06/2020 20:01

Any thread where the OP’s husband dares to have a female friend/colleague/dentist, apparently they’re obviously having an affair and the OP “must put a stop to it”

ilovesooty · 30/06/2020 20:02

@MrsGrindah

OMG there’s a thread right now...asking about returning a dress and someone has replied at least you haven’t had to organise a socially distanced funeral!
Utterly bonkers.
MintyMabel · 30/06/2020 20:02

@FirstClassFlightHome

That makes me giggle. I can imagine super skinny MN froth at that. I imagine you had loads of suggestions about how to be thinner!

isabellerossignol · 30/06/2020 20:04

In the run up to the plastic bag charge being introduced in England, I was on a thread where people were getting very worked up because apparently everyone was going to become ill if they had to re-use shopping bags and someone commented that it would be impossible to get home delivery shopping without plastic bags. I live elsewhere in the UK and plastic bags had already been done away with a couple of years earlier. So I happened to mention that it was no problem getting a delivery without bags, it just comes in the crate and you empty it out. Another poster went nuts, calling me a liar and advance searching me trying to prove that I was lying about where I live, and trying to prove that no one has ever had a grocery delivery without plastic bags.

It was hilarious.

Legoandloldolls · 30/06/2020 20:06

This reminds of on one of my very first posts on MN when plastic baby bottles had ( what was it in them? BPA/ arsenic/ DDT??) In them. First reply was how boring and why couldn't post more interesting things.

I was 🙄 it say Mum in the forum name. I posted on the baby area.

What should have I asked I still wonder? The similarities between Islam and christianity? Quantum physics? Or life after death which of course, are far more relevant when keeping a new human alive.

Should of got that pompous twat head debating .NET versus classic asp and what they thought of Java compared to Java script as that's the real burning issue in parenting.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 30/06/2020 20:07

@AlexCabot that was me! I mean I was the OP, not the creme egg pusher Grin

XDownwiththissortofthingX · 30/06/2020 20:07

Spouses have a disagreement about something minor -

He's an abusive cunt, feeding you the 'script', obviously has an OW, probably multiple phones, will eventually kill you and your babies. You should LTB, oh, and get an STD check.

CrazyTimesAreOccurring · 30/06/2020 20:08

OP - Am near the end of my tether. Home-schooling 5 kids, working F/T and no support. Am feeling ill and when my sister came over yesterday we had such an awful row. Now i have heard I may lose my job and my cat has just had an accident. Really dont know what to do.

Poster (usually the first one)- YOUR SISTER CAME OVER??? YOU ARE BREAKING LOCKDOWN RULES!! WHAT THE HELL IS THE MATTER WITH YOU??! THAT IS 7 OF YOU IN ONE HOUSE!

MintyMabel · 30/06/2020 20:08

The ones were the OP is clearly bang out of order and gets a deserved pasting

Someone always chimes in that SM are all demonised and how dare anyone criticise OP for feeding her DSC gruel whilst her own kids have fillet steak.

isabellerossignol · 30/06/2020 20:09

I'm sure I read a thread a couple of months ago where a poster said they were crying and shaking because someone had gone to the shop to buy a single item. Not enough to be mildly disapproving, but actually crying and shaking. Hmm

SunshineOutdoors · 30/06/2020 20:09

I just clicked on the AIBU to have had a small glass of champagne when 26 weeks pregnant because I knew there’d be some good examples. Don’t want to say I was right but.....

TerribleCustomerCervix · 30/06/2020 20:10

Did anyone see the one about the woman who found the rat with broken legs in her back garden?

She didn’t know what to do and (normal) posters were like “that’s dreadful, but the kind thing to do would be to try and quickly dispatch it before a cat or fox gets it or you get Weils disease.”

Cue people coming on to call them cruel, and inhumane. Suggested calling round vets etc. That got a bit mad.

The final update from the OP detailed how they had ended up giving the rat fucking ibuprofen from a syringe.

ilovesooty · 30/06/2020 20:10

And as soon as your spouse does something vaguely irritating you'll get told to read Lundy Bancroft.

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 30/06/2020 20:10

I'm sure I read a thread a couple of months ago where a poster said they were crying and shaking because someone had gone to the shop to buy a single item

Yes, it was "literally sobbing and shaking".
But clearly composed enough to still be posting on MN hehe!

Tulipstulips · 30/06/2020 20:11

The poster who felt violated because her husband farted in front of her. DH and I laughed and laughed at this - even now when one of us lets one rip the other gasps in faux horror ‘You violated me!’

SunshineOutdoors · 30/06/2020 20:11

Am I’m still worried someone’s going to turn on me here with a response to my above post Grin

MrsGrindah · 30/06/2020 20:12

@SunshineOutdoors I nearly commented on here about that thread too but I didn’t feel brave enough! I’m crying and shaking at the thought

MalcomTuckerisMyIdol · 30/06/2020 20:14

@ilovesooty or “you need to do the freedom program”.

ConstantlySeekingHappiness · 30/06/2020 20:14

I remember a while back a woman posting about how she and her husband had bought a new house - they didn’t have children and had a number of bedrooms in the house. She was asking for some general chat about what they should use the other rooms for.

Resulted in absolute outrage that she had the audacity to buy a house with more bedrooms than they needed and they were single handedly causing families with young children to be destitute and living on the street. She was obviously selfish and should really give up the house to a family with children.

Really she should have been living in a 1bedroom caravan (and that would be generous enough for them).

MalcomTuckerisMyIdol · 30/06/2020 20:15

I honestly wonder if any of the people who get so het up act the same in real life. I assume that, on the whole, not.

Yeah property threads are weird. In one that’s going on right now someone said that anyone who builds an extension on their house is single handedly responsible for first time buyers not being able to get on the property market! How dare they think about their kids needs or build a room for their grandparent! Won’t they think of the first time buyers? Selfish bastards!
