IDK, but if I were RBG or any of the other liberal-leaning justices I'd be hiring bodyguards and staying far away from open windows.

That 7-2 decision split must have just killed Scrotus. His 'handpicked minions' didn't do what he told them to! That was almost as pleasing as the decision itself. He's so ignorant he was probably screaming down the phone at Barr to 'fire' them lol.

But if you look at it right, once someone has been made a Supreme Court judge why would they need his patronage any more?

Exactly, they wouldn't! DH and I were talking about how 'fun' it would be if Gorsuch and Kavanaugh 'turned their coats' now they're on the SCOTUS.

Scrotus' only 'weapon' now would be to dig up dirt on them and threaten exposure. But even that wouldn't actually remove them, it would just embarrass them and/or hold them up to ridicule.

To actually remove, they'd have to be impeached. Only one Justice has been impeached by the House (Samuel Chase) but once again, the Senate did not vote to remove him from the bench.

Am I right in saying that Gorsuch was a fairly liberal judge and so his decision wouldn't be such a surprise and it's him just doing the right thing.
However Kavanaugh is a different matter. I watched his hearings open mouthed. Trump put himself out for him. And then there's his massive debts that were paid off.

I've been wondering what they'd do - I live a bit north of this and tbf the weather has been and continues to be wildly thunderstormy.

I'd really hoped they didn't cancel, and instead got rained on. But then their excuse would be 'People didn't come because it was raining.'

New Hampshire is a funny state. Their motto is 'Live free or die' and a lot of them are very right wing. But they also have done a quite good job of keeping Covid under control, and a lot of people there are secretly quite sensible.

That's rather cheering.
