Favourite old children’s shows

Sorry for shamelessly using AIBU for traffic!

I’m pregnant and feeling nostalgic for the children’s tv shows of my childhood! My absolute favourite was Old Bear Stories (from the Jane Hissey books), and I’ve just seen it’s all on YouTube so I can’t wait to show them to my baby!

What were your favourites, and do you think they beat out the Pepper Pigs of today?

Moondial, late 80s. I was about 7 and it scared me, even though it was an after school programme. It was repeated a few years later then loved it. I don't think it's a show many people remember.

tempestterra · 23/05/2020 20:46

beekeeper yes it was...but I just typed earthfarts into YouTube and came up with a farting hippo😂😂😂

Tottie · 23/05/2020 21:00

Great thread but now I feel really depressed!! 😕
Moschops. Tottie. Jase and the wheeled warriors. The Lowdown. The Moomins. Why don't you. Jeremy Bear. Bagpuss. Trap door. Chocky. Josie Smith. Chorlton and the Wheelies. The Flumps. The Double Deckers. Heidi. Let's pretend.
These are just a few that I loved watching when I was a kid. There are many more.

Tottie · 23/05/2020 21:03

I loved the Moondial too. I was an odd child and loved wierd stuff like that. Does anyone else remember The kids of Degrassi Street?

Almostfifty · 23/05/2020 21:06

Almost all of you are far too young!

The Magic Roundabout was the best children's TV ever. The Clangers were fabulous, along with Bagpuss. The Herb Garden was great as well, loved Parsley the Lion.

@LookToTreblesGoingTreblesGone
Yes, got it for Christmas. It came with a book explaining how the series came to be and has filming info for each episode.
Only problem was that once I started to watch I wanted to go through all the episodes in one go and had to be very strong and ration myself to a couple of episodes a day.

LookToTreblesGoingTreblesGone · 23/05/2020 22:50
