Just that really. Either a totally off topic question, a hilarious response or just something that made you laugh.

For me it was someone who had posted about her office chair frequently appearing damp and smelling of pee and someone just responded “woah we’re halfway there”.

Ages ago on a thread about things that had happened during sex and someone said their boyfriend slapped them on the arse and said "Ride me like Seabiscuit"

SinisterBumFacedCat · 05/05/2020 13:12

There was an angry thread about a woman waiting to use the printer in the library to print a job application but there were people in front of her in the queue using the computer for Facebook. She got very uppity saying she was amazingly successful compared to there lazy oiks and used to be a professional dancer. Things quickly descend into song lyrics as they often do. Someone posted if she was so successful she could surely afford to buy a printer. But it was the Tina Turner song that got me, that the op should buy a “private printer, a printer for money” that got me. Also can’t get the image of the standing in the library queue tapping her feet impatiently dressed as a feathered dancing girl out of my head.

The line that makes me snort on Sinister Easter Bonnet goes something like, ‘The chick on the left knows all he has to do is outrun the one on the right. What a little bastard he is.’

Simply brilliant. I remember when I first read that thread, I laughed so much I think my neighhours must have thought I had finally gone gaga. The placing of the eyes on the chicks was perfect, reflecting their horror at the sight of the fox. It not winning first prize at school was a travesty of justice. Grin

Fabulous thread. Place marked.

WoeIsMee · 05/05/2020 14:10

Almost every reply to this thread. It should be in Classics! Had me actually crying with laughter -

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/parenting/2307274-I-am-everything-you-hate-about-people-on-the-internet-I-am-here-to-help

'What the fuck is this then?' she asked, setting down her quill.

😂😂😂😂

WitchWife · 05/05/2020 14:19

@woeis - that was the thread with the amazing post mentioned by some of us below

Wonder if he ever recovered.

WoeIsMee · 05/05/2020 14:43

Ooh I hadn’t read all the way through yet!

WitchWife · 05/05/2020 14:44

No one could find the thread! thanks for linking it Smile

TheNavigator · 05/05/2020 14:49

That sinister Easter bonnet still makes me laugh Grin

WiryTail · 05/05/2020 15:16

So many.

I AM CANADIAN

Something about Kelly Osborne's jaw being dug up by a Time Team in the future and them thinking it was a prehistoric ploughing tool.

A woman who plucked her eyebrows every day, poster underneath said something like 'Fuck me. Are you Liam Gallagher'

The whole expectation versus reality thread, fat match & Suzi Quatros fat nan.

@TheGrump response attached on a thread about menopause and husbands being annoying.

'Your Minge!', also attached.

Kelly Osbornes jaw 😂😂😂😂

7Days · 05/05/2020 15:27

I love the way the OP on the Sinister Easter Bonnet thread nervously concedes "this is my first brush with bonneting"

Phineyj · 05/05/2020 16:50

The DH with the specialty breakfast toasts garnered a few choice responses.

Elle1234 · 05/05/2020 16:58

The penis beaker thread, I think almost every response had me laughing on that one

BalloonSlayer · 05/05/2020 17:08

The one recently about Prince Charles having Covid-19 and how he got tested when no one else could.

"Are you asking how come he gets treated like Royalty?"

Pinkarsedfly · 05/05/2020 18:01

It was the collective reaction that made the Easter Bonnet thread that made it so brilliant. I was there live, as it were. It started so tentatively - and then bam!

We weren’t expecting that! The hilarity was palpable.

Probably my joint favourite thread of all time, with Expectation vs Reality.

Pinkarsedfly · 05/05/2020 18:02

Sorry, that made no sense. Have had Birthday champagne.

Reply On a thread where OP was as worried about dc not spoon feeding herself:

"I am amazing at using spoons. From early childhood onward I was always top in my class for spooning. Teaspoons, tablespoons, fruit spoons, salad spoons - you name it, I can use it perfectly. Every day I’m thankful that my mum taught me to independently use a spoon before the age of one - it’s undoubtedly been the key to my very considerable success in life. One day I hope to spoon in the Olympics, and on the day I win the gold spoon medal I hope my mum will also know that she’s won the gold medal in parenting. In fact I feel so strongly about the value of early spooning that I’m planning to open my own not-for-profit enterprise (Utensil Potential, we have a GoFundMe) to give free spoons to children in poor households, where spoons might not otherwise be available. My dream is to change lives, one spoon at a time."

Ravenesque · 05/05/2020 18:17

I hope this is okay as it's from the Guardian talkboard (RIP) from about twenty years ago and it has stayed with me ever since and still makes me laugh whenever I think of it.

There was a poster called ElvisPaisley and there was some sort of political argument going on, way too long to remember what. Anyway, the other person in the argument got really irate, posted a big old rant and then finished it off with: "And it's Elvis Presley, you idiot!"

Thanks for this thread, I have laughed so much. Snapped and farted has had me laughing since yesterday.

2004SavedMe · 05/05/2020 18:25

Sorry if it's already been posted, but I can't see the link for snapped and farted, please can someone post it again?

Carolduckingbaskin · 05/05/2020 18:33

@CorkingHell love that one!

Loved the Christmas candle thread

BluebellsareBlue · 05/05/2020 21:27

Can anyone link to the balonz thread, I've trawled this site and can't find it. Also the pom bears I laughed like a drain on that one would love to read it again

RobinsonXmas · 05/05/2020 21:28

'Cockwomble' and 'Wankbadger' I so needed sweary Mumsnet when the kids were small and I was missing engineering language.

The Centre Parks, code for anal sex thread, still makes me snigger whenever RL people talk about their holidays. I think it corrupted Google for sometime.
