Just that really. Either a totally off topic question, a hilarious response or just something that made you laugh.

For me it was someone who had posted about her office chair frequently appearing damp and smelling of pee and someone just responded “woah we’re halfway there”.

I have to say this thread has made me laugh more than anything since lockdown. There was a recent thread about someone who got overwhelmed and emotional by amazing art and was her husband unreasonable not to take her anywhere. It turned out to be a troll I think, but as her bizarreness unfolded, one poster simply said, "tell us more stuff OP". Made me guffaw

onemorecupofcoffeefortheroad · 04/05/2020 09:07

The thread recently where the poster was concerned that her DH was spending too much time on zoom work calls with a female colleague who was having work issues with the whole lockdown thing. Most people said he just sounded like a caring boss. But one poster came on suggesting she should waft into the room, when next they were online, give him a cup of tea, sit on his lap, give him a cuddle and call him darling all in front of this female colleague - presumably to make this poor woman know what a marvellous relationship they had.

When everyone said how ridiculous that was she was baffled and refused to see how completely inappropriate that would be.

cittigirl · 04/05/2020 09:10

UCL is that you?

CigarsofthePharoahs · 04/05/2020 09:19

Somone was talking about an angry woman in a public toilet.
One of the responses was "You could have offered her a cream egg". Was so random.
I also remember the thread where one poster accused people of slapping F5 like a demented seal. He was accusing others of obsessing over the thread, but was probably the worst offender!

RoomForMore · 04/05/2020 09:46

The Hugo thread made me laugh so much! Hugosthere and Hugoagogo being my favourites Grin

Barrique · 04/05/2020 09:54

There was a great thread about people having noisy sex in OP’s hedge. Someone asked if it might have been hedgehogs, as they can be noisy. OP’s reply: “I've never heard any of my local hedgehogs ask for a finger in the bum“.

Thread with a summary and link to the " I am Canadian" thread 😂

On the Crafts board, a thread titled 'What do I need to know about a Big Shit?'

The first response 'Major title fail, OP?'

Another reply 'I rushed to this thread thinking finally I had some experience to contribute something. Very disappointed that it's just about crafting.'

Notredamn · 04/05/2020 12:04

There was one not too long ago where someone nodded to their SIL and said about her new baby, 'she's gonna be some fucker', meaning to say 'a thumb sucker'. The way it must've been said had me sliding off the sofa laughing!

PerfPower · 04/05/2020 12:25

There was a post by a nanny I think, she was putting the little girl's shoes on while the little girl's quite prim mother and grandmother waited patiently. She finished, stood up and said 'Let's go, bitches'. It was on an 'inappropriate things you've said' kind of thread, and I could just picture it and it gave me the giggles.

Biddie191 · 04/05/2020 12:41

Namechangex10000 · 04/05/2020 12:45

@Greydove28 I think I made me first comment saying exactly that this morning, now I feel stupid!!! Honestly I just couldn’t think of anything more polite to say!!!!

Dialdownthedrama · 04/05/2020 12:53

It wasn't funny 'ha ha' but funny as an example of MN dementors.

An OP made a really fun, lighthearted post asking if people missed being students?. Talking about cramming for exams and living off fags and coffee when doing an assignment at the last minute, being excited about new books and learning etc.

Literally the first response was from a poster saying no, they didn't miss it because they were a student in Leeds during the time the Yorkshire Ripper was on the loose 🙂

gatsbylove · 04/05/2020 13:10

getting that rapey bastard Harvey Weinstein into jail is like trying to get a cat in the bath

OneandTwenty · 04/05/2020 14:24

to a lighthearted --current- musing about a zoom work meeting whilst in the bath:

"but what if you farted!"

Tana433 · 04/05/2020 14:33

There was a thread that stated "Ive slept with 120 people AMA
1st response was "What are you having for tea?"

Made me properly chuckle, thread was deleted quite soon after as i remember!

RevolutionofourTime · 04/05/2020 14:37

Autumnsloth · 04/05/2020 15:58

The hedgehog one is Amazing, feel like you really go on the journey with her.

I remember one from last summer AIBU to not go and comfort by adult daughter who has rung me crying after a breakup. Turns out the reason she didn't want to go was.... She had planned to go to shopping in a fabric Sale. Even after everyone told her she was being very unreasonable, she just would not back down.

Also the PFB thread.

Really revealing myself as a MN newb, but what's the deal with the penis beaker?

Penis beaker thread. EnjoySmile

Thelnebriati · 04/05/2020 16:09

I'm pretty sure it was a troll but OP causally dropped in mid ramble about how she and her DH had sex then he used the penis beaker to wash then went to the bathroom.
