AIBU? Neighbours demanding money for McDonald’s

Radishey · 03/05/2020 09:52

We live in quite a small but nice street, mainly detached with decent sized gardens. We have a whatsapp group that the whole street is on, barring one family LOL. But we won’t talk about them.

Anyway, DH is the one who reads the group most often and has now got into a massive fight with the neighbours over a group-buy of McDonalds food next week.

😂😂😂😂😂 op wtf are you on about? no one gives a fuck about your house or what it costs, we want to know why 1. you don't want to pay for McDonald's and 2. why theres a family in the street no one talks to, but only bexause you stsrted a thread on it that makes no sense what so ever!

Haffiana · 03/05/2020 11:02

I’m proud of what we have and we have worked very hard to be where we are now. YES it’s a detached house and YES it wasn’t far off seven figures, but that’s the area we live in and we have worked hard for it. Not that it has anything to do with any of you anyway!

Do you have any REAL qualities that you are proud of, OP? Are you only defined by your naice house and other money stuff?

fronttoback · 03/05/2020 11:02

Not that it has anything to do with any of you anyway! Why tell us then?

Could I please ask you to just get to the point?

mumwon · 03/05/2020 11:02

Does anybody wonder when people start some random threads & than argue like this whether it is actually more that they are trying to get people to react (Hell-o D fail)? sort of a troll thread?

Carolduckingbaskin · 03/05/2020 11:02

@Ponoka7 her Dh objected after a brief fracas about whether they should have bbq sauce or ketchup as condiments. This lead to a full on “shouting in the street row” which may knock house prices down to just 6 rather than 7 figures. The left out family had made noises about ordering a fillet of fish, and therefore are now shunned.

Thehollyandtheirony · 03/05/2020 11:02

OP, we need to know about the family not allowed in the Whatsapp group. LOL

They work for Burger King.

GaaaaarlicBread · 03/05/2020 11:02

Can’t wait for this thread to get deleted because OP can’t take the questions after drip feeding and requests to have it taken down 🤣

fuckinghellthisshit · 03/05/2020 11:02

This is fun!

Sparklingplasters · 03/05/2020 11:02

Right, what about macdonalds?

saraclara · 03/05/2020 11:03

Are we going to get the story?I want to know what happened.

EllaAlright · 03/05/2020 11:03

So, what’s wrong with the McDonald’s group buy?

mumwon · 03/05/2020 11:03

ps a random comment -our garden is looking better & some jobs we put off are getting done Grin

Haffiana · 03/05/2020 11:04

Hang on a minute - 12% voted YANBU???? I wonder if they all live in the same street as OP.

Guys - what are your thoughts on the McDonalds?

BigFatSoo · 03/05/2020 11:04

I could kill for a McDonalds.

Thighmageddon · 03/05/2020 11:04

Firstly, thanks for all the sarcastic replies. If you don’t have anything nice to say, then do not say it.

Stop being a detached house wanker then.

All I can now think of is Maccy Ds now ffs.

vodkaredbullgirl · 03/05/2020 11:04

Im starving now

Morgan12 · 03/05/2020 11:05

Why are you talking about your house?

What are you getting from McDonalds?

whatdoyoudonow · 03/05/2020 11:06

We live in quite a small but nice street, mainly detached with decent sized gardens.

What has the size of your garden got to do with anything?

We have a whatsapp group that the whole street is on, barring one family LOL. But we won’t talk about them.

So not really a 'nice street' then?

Anyway, DH is the one who reads the group most often and has now got into a massive fight with the neighbours over a group-buy of McDonalds food next week.

Most definitely not a 'nice street'.
Scrapping over McDonalds on WhatsApp group chat?

Jesus.

'LOL' Hmm

Chucklecheeks01 · 03/05/2020 11:06

WHAT'S YOUR FECKING QUESTION?
I've got stuff to do and for some pathetic, lockdown madness reason I need to know!!!

Spacecudet · 03/05/2020 11:06

I live in a deatched house with large garden, but only have 1 bathroom and a toilet brush! Where do I stand on getting a takeaway?
I was always rather partial to the spicy beanburger from Wimpy. I used to work at a Wimpy in the 1990s, and we were still serving on plates with cutlery.

WorraLiberty · 03/05/2020 11:07

I think the OP is one nugget short of a Happy Meal.

Queenoftheashes · 03/05/2020 11:07

OP it’s been over an hour. I really thought you’d have come to the point by now.

emilybrontescorsett · 03/05/2020 11:07

Yes I think the op will ask for the thread to be deleted too, as it's ' too outing.'
The op is one of only a handful of mumsnetters who live in a 'naice street' and have ever heard of Whattsap.

TheMagiciansMewTwo · 03/05/2020 11:07

If the argument was about where they would park when they returned from foraging food from McDonalds then this thread would be perfect (parking diagram needed obviously!).

vodkaredbullgirl · 03/05/2020 11:07

Maybe they are a mac d snobs.
