Hands up for that one but also for more selfish reasons as I love Springsteen

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 21/03/2020 18:58

PhoneTwattery

Holy cow that's a long old list. Thanks for the compilation.

littleMillie · 21/03/2020 19:02

I’m going to go with “where the streets have no name” U2 on a rooftop shooting the video, drawing in a huge excited crowd and the shoot being shut down.

Runmybathforme · 21/03/2020 19:03

Thriller every time.

AllTheseThingsThatIHaveNotDone · 21/03/2020 19:25

phonetwattery Yass, someone who is as invested in this thread as me Grin. Thank you - I am going to go down your list in a minute Flowers
In the meantime, and I am aware this is cheating as they are not music videos I am nonetheless going to post my favourite lip syncs which never fail to cheer me up.
Tom Holland
Dwayne Johnson
Anne Hathaway
Emma Stone

and Daniel Radcliffe rapping

I’m working my way through them now!

I invested in one of these for my Firestick to type them in more quickly! 😃

LCD Sound System - Oh Baby. My DH shares this video with me and oh my goodness! I cried! It's so amazing. Directed by Rian Johnson (who directed Knives Out) and featuring Sissy Spacek and David Strathairn.

Fr0g · 22/03/2020 09:04

Happy by Pharrell Williams
Nothing amazingly technical - but it always cheers me up

AllTheseThingsThatIHaveNotDone · 22/03/2020 16:35

I like this one. Astronaut alien on run from authorities ends up at a fancy dress party where they are dressed as aliens etc then is reunited with his fellow astronaut and they blast off in a shower of pink.

Kygo - Stole the show

AllTheseThingsThatIHaveNotDone · 22/03/2020 16:53

I think that's fair enough FrOg - A lot of successful videos employ fans or actors dancing for the joy of it or crowds singing along - they work as that kind of joy is infectious.
I like Mando Diao's Dance with somebody for the same reason - as a plus size person, I relate to the bloke dancing like nobody's watching.

Avanchales' Since I left you employed a similar narrative - an underground miner gets to live out his dream. Finally Big Flo and Ollie film fans on their tour I love that kind of video - same as I like the crowd singing on George Ezra's Shotgun or Arcade Fire's Everything Now - just awesome if you were there being recorded.

Avalanches!

AutumnRose1 · 22/03/2020 19:49

My favourite Avalanches video is definitely Frontier Psychiatrist

SmallChickBilly · 22/03/2020 20:27

Can't say I love Crazy - too much creepy leering at teenage girls, too weird to think about Steven Tyler choosing his daughter to be the sexy minx in his videos, too weird the bit where the farmer is picking his nose in the back of their car, but mostly

INAPPROPRIATE APOSTROPHE ON THE 'GIRL'S' BATHROOM DOOR! (Assuming it was for all the girls, not just Alicia Silverstone).

I vote for This Too Shall Pass and I Won't Let You Down by OK GO

AutumnRose1 · 23/03/2020 11:16

Small, I know what you mean about Crazy, but at the time it came out, life was like that, from the girls’ POV and it was fun to be like that.

I think I preferred the Cryin’ video but prob because I had my belly button pierced a week before I saw it or something!

RobuxBriberyIsMyLifeNow · 01/06/2020 09:18

Reviving as I have been reliving my youth and had no idea legend Joanie appeared in this video! Grin
