Sneaking back on for 5 minutes. Have been up and out, honest guv! ;-)
I like dance in videos so love these three as the choreo is amazing...

Shakira. Did it again. Daniel ''Cloud'' Campos Pink's iconic contemporary Try Any of Kate Bush's videos to be fair - I agree that she was way ahead of her time. Running up that hill still looks and sounds brilliant. Michael Hervieu did that with only one day's rehearsal.
Modwolvesrock · 14/03/2020 13:31

Walking after you - Foo Fighters

Really gives me the creeps.
Who knew Dave Grohl could be so scary Shock

MagpieWife · 14/03/2020 13:32

Completely agree with everyone saying Thriller is the all-time best.

My favourite of the decade is Nobody Speak by Run the Jewels. Also like This is America by Donald Glover.

Honeyroar · 14/03/2020 13:34

I’d say Thriller too. It was in a league of its own. People still do the dance 30 years on (thousands of people do it on the New York Halloween parade). I remember the long version being shown on a specially extended Top of the Pops!

AllTheseThingsThatIHaveNotDone · 14/03/2020 13:45

Yes Schottin Deutschland is a work of art.
I realise it was controversial (many wrongly view band as far right, reference to the concentration camps, Germania is depicted by a black woman) - Ruby Commey she's awesome but my eldest DD and I find the whole video artistic, provocative, cool highlighting some of the most important (and negative) events* in German history with the end ''I can't love you'' because of these events. It's epic.

*Roman times, the Middle Ages, Witch-hunt, November Revolution, Golden Twenties, Nazi book burnings, LZ 129 Hindenburg, World War I and World War II, Weimar Republic, Red Army Faction, the Cold War with West Germany and East Germany; and sci-fi scenes set in outer space. wiki

On a much lighter note, here's Train and 50 ways to say goodbye.
What video cannot be improved by the addition of The Hoff? Wink Grin

Booboooo · 14/03/2020 14:12

Really like harry styles adore you as a recent one

AllTheseThingsThatIHaveNotDone · 14/03/2020 14:15

Panic! at the disco again - I write sins not tragedies.
15 years old, my word - won mtv video of the year iirc

ThanosSavedMe · 14/03/2020 14:48

@PhoneTwattery oops wrong one. I did wonder after I posted! 😁

PhoneTwattery · 14/03/2020 15:26

Findawaytobehappy · 14/03/2020 16:48

ThanosSavedMe · 14/03/2020 16:57

TooLittleTooLate80 · 14/03/2020 17:05

Thanks to all on here for helping me pass a football free afternoon on youtube!

PlanetMJ · 14/03/2020 17:16

Sia, "Chandelier".
The choreography and performance of the dancer who was only 11 at the time is utterly riveting.

user5656 · 14/03/2020 19:53

Pink - Stupid Girls

Wishihadanalgorithm · 14/03/2020 20:15

Sledgehammer by Peter Gabriel
Tonight by the Smashing Pumpkins

ArchieStar · 14/03/2020 20:16

Dancing in the street - David Bowie and mick Jagger!

TheSmallClangerWhistlesAgain · 14/03/2020 20:24

Starfuckers Inc by Nine Inch Nails. A massive pisstake with Trent Reznor being all pervy and sexy.

Ordinary World by Duran Duran, the one with the bride in the crazy dress and hat. The most painfully early-90s thing in the world but it's really lovely.

AllTheseThingsThatIHaveNotDone · 14/03/2020 22:50

Not the best video of all time no...but the best video for anyone wanting not to stress about corona or anything else! Excellent parody/cheese/and an actual earworm to boot! everybody now...you are gold and silver ha ha

Hugh Grant - Pop goes my heart! Grin Grin

happyandsingle · 14/03/2020 23:29

Sonne rammstein.

Dubdubdubtub · 15/03/2020 00:08

Ha ha love Hugh grant in that video. It could have easily been a big 80’s hit

Dubdubdubtub · 15/03/2020 00:09

And apparently Hugh does all his own singing in music and lyrics. He had a lovely voice especially the song he sings on the piano at the concert. Sorry derailed the thread

GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou · 15/03/2020 01:08

I love Depeche Mode - Enjoy the Silence.

Both videos.

AllTheseThingsThatIHaveNotDone · 15/03/2020 01:22

Well I am about to derail it by expressing disbelief that Till Lindemann is 57 Shock I am also impressed that him and Richard Kruspe never had issues about Mareike (?) or if they ever did, never let them get in the way of the band.
Have been having a Rammstein fest the last half an hour thanks to pp on this thread!
Going to the polar opposite here is the rather wonderful Ray Liotta in the video to Ed Sheeran's Bloodstream

the much missed Rutger Hauer in Kylie's On a night like this

Mr Sting when he was hot as hell in Fortress around your heart

Wiretree has a lovely 1920s black and white video for Big Coat

Björk's Joga (yes I know everyone goes for all is full of love but I think this Michel Gondry directed video has its own charm like Björk is Moana's Te Fiti)

The short film video Jazzin for Blue Jean - Bowie such a sweetheart and I always enjoyed watching him

Talking of enjoyable watches, Sam Rockwell pulling off a Christopher Walken is always going to be my bag but I actually prefer the video with Saint Motel My Type music (it was a music video but for Flight Facilities' Down to Earth)

Last but by no means least, for sheer joyous chutzpah, and because I miss him as much as Prince and Bowie, I will always reserve a special place in my heart for George Michael's Outside video. When the Glitterball Glitterball descend, the urinals convert to shiny and George dances as a sexy cop my heart skips a beat. When it came out I just stood and applauded. RIP George Flowers

AllTheseThingsThatIHaveNotDone · 15/03/2020 01:30

(the original song for those who want a double helping of Sam)
