I'm having one of those periods where people just seem rubbish. Inconsiderate drivers, dog walkers leaving poo all over the pavement, friends being hurt and let down by others...it's all really getting to me lately.

I'd really love to hear about things that have made you smile lately, especially acts of kindness and thoughtfulness. Help drag me back out of this misanthropy!

Thank you @Slothkin I should maybe add some stars to my calendar right now too, I've not been able to go to any of my usual fitness classes so there's space. I managed out alone again today, shorter walk but to treat myself to a much needed relaxation massage which has helped a lot too.

I'll hopefully be back at my Pilates class tomorrow if I think I can manage, fingers crossed. DC are at their dad's this weekend and DH is working late shifts so I might end up with a takeaway and wine instead. Grin

@LefttoherownDevizes That made me cry!

Beesisabuzzin · 12/03/2020 20:07

A toddler trying on a police officer's hat proper made me smile. My dog lying in front of the fire. Seeing a credit on my PayPal balance!

The magnolia is blooming at the right time and has loads of buds, the first four years after I planted the tree it bloomed so late. And today my book hating 20 month old brought me Please Mr Panda and The Tiger that Came to Tea and insisted we read them both twice!

Franticterrapin · 13/03/2020 20:06

My dog greeted me like this when I got home from work last week. He'd managed to get the bread off the worktop. Actually made me laugh out loud when he presented this to me!

@Franticterrapin Your dog has made me smile tonight. Smile

If that had been my dog there would have been no trace at all left of the bread. He eats anything he can find, he managed to steal a slice of aubergine I dropped when making my dinner tonight, it didn't even get the chance to hit the floor and I don't think he even tasted it with how fast it vanished lol.

Franticterrapin · 13/03/2020 20:20

@PenguinsOnParade his tummy was soooooo fat! He let me take this slice, then ran to his bed, where he had one more slice left hahaha

Aubergine? Ha! I love dogs Smile

My brother brought me flowers on 2 occasions 🥰.
My DS who is 8 months makes me smile daily even when he is a bit sassy. He's just so funny. Such a little character.

Windyatthebeach · 13/03/2020 20:25

Please look up the ddog that guards the family bread....
Apparently they hide it before going out, ddog finds it and sits over it - untouched by teeth - until they get home.
So sweet.

Windyatthebeach · 13/03/2020 20:26

It's on Pinterest and it's a gorgeous rottweiler!!

@Franticterrapin - oh dear, so there may have been a few slices that mysteriously vanished then? Mine is a little tubby boy too, his brother is underweight but it's impossible to fatten him up with Fatso McGee stealing anything left unattended, we really have to keep an eye on him. Thankfully his little brother has started to stick up for himself and guard his own food now. And yeah aubergine tonight was a new one, the only thing I've ever seen him spit out was a raw mushroom but he kept going back to it to try it again, then just spat it back out again over and over. PenguinsOnParade · 13/03/2020 20:31

@Windyatthebeach - this one? I love it! Haha

I lost my grandma in February. She taught me to knit and I haven’t been able to pick up my needles since. Last Saturday my hairdresser told me she was pregnant and asked if I’d knit something for the baby as her grandma would have knitted but wasn’t around anymore either. I cried but for the first time have been able to pick up and knit and that finally made me smile. It’s made me happy I can make my lovely hairdresser happy and I feel so close to my grandma despite her being gone.

Franticterrapin · 13/03/2020 20:35

OMG that Rottie is soooooo cute, just googled him!

@PenguinsOnParade yes, the empty packet was proof......little git! Fatso McGee 😂😂😂

pooopypants · 13/03/2020 20:35

Just bought myself a new vacuum, a Shark if you're interested. It's the mutt's nuts.

PenguinsOnParade · 13/03/2020 20:40

We got our first Shark this week too @pooopypants. Was worth the wait and DH now admits we should have got it earlier.

That’s so lovely @CampfireZen !

sunshineandshowers21 · 13/03/2020 20:41

i’m 30 weeks pregnant and feeling terrible so i took myself off to bed this afternoon for a while. my 6 year old brought me juice and biscuits up and got in bed with me for a cuddle. he was looking up at me for a while and then said ‘oh mum, i just love you so much.’ made me smile, and also cry a little!

PenguinsOnParade · 13/03/2020 20:41

Oh that's sweet @KatyaZamolodchikova. What are you knitting? It's been a while since I knit or crocheted anything. Lost my mojo a good few years ago and it's hard to get it back.

1Morewineplease · 13/03/2020 20:43

That’s so lovely to hear @KatyaZamolodchikova !

KatyaZamolodchikova · 13/03/2020 20:54

@PenguinsOnParade I’m making a cardigan and a little circular blanket for a car seat or pram. I’m so glad and the timing is just right. It feels a bit circle of life really 😊

RickOShay · 13/03/2020 20:57

Ds1 was trying to tell me what he needed for food tech. We established it was chicken, but he didn’t know what part. Finally he said you know mum that slabby stuff we put lemon on

My daughter was in intensive care & my friend drove an hour to sit with us, even though that hospital department has some quite traumatic memories for her as her son was v poorly there. My friend turned up with a bag full of food & a huge latte for me too, I needed it.
