Bloke I’ve been seeing for 8 months. He says the weirdest phrases and says the strangest things I can’t get over my annoyance.

One of them is, he’ll yawn and then say “oh! I’m yawning well!”. Wtf does that even mean?? I’ve never heard it said before and he says it almost every day.
Another one is “we need to nip that in the bun” bun??!! I have told him that it’s bud but he carries on saying Bun. I find it annoying.

“Keep sure you do that” “keep sure to set your alarm” etc etc ... keep sure?!

Jellypeano on the pizza

There is other stuff too but relationship aside ... has anyone else heard of these sayings?? (Keep sure, yawning well etc)

Never heard of any of them. He just sounds quirky. But if you’re finding it irritating then he’s not the one for you - if he was, you’d be able to look past it.

IndigoHexagon · 08/03/2020 14:24

This would drive me bonkers. Imagine how many more annoying things he could be saying over the next 20 years plus.... could you cope with it??

Bbang · 08/03/2020 14:24

Jelly peano is what tipped me over the edge, cannot be doing with that nonsense thank you!

FreedomBird · 08/03/2020 14:25

How annoying. Best to nip this relationship in the bun...

Paddy1234 · 08/03/2020 14:25

Well done for doing 8 months
I would have lost it at 1 month

nicelyneurotic · 08/03/2020 14:26

He sounds so annoying. And dim. I'd have to get rid.

Sparklfairy · 08/03/2020 14:26

YANBU OP. Once you start to get 'the ick' there's no going back. I dated a perfectly nice guy once that stuff like this really started to get under my skin (and I'm the most laid back person ever). Once I started to notice them, I noticed it ALL the time and every time he opened his mouth I would inwardly roll my eyes. He had to go.

LittleBlackCurlyHairs · 08/03/2020 14:26

Thank god it’s not just me! I know it sounds trivial but he repeats this stuff over and over again and I feel like a bubbling volcano

I dumped someone who thought 'chimbley' was the correct word >.

WatcherintheRye · 08/03/2020 14:29

It's 'make' sure and definitely 'bud', and I've never heard 'yawning well'. Does he cover his mouth when he's yawning, or does he present you with a gaping cavern? If you're this irritated 8 months in, I fear your relationship won't go the distance, op.

HowDoesTheCow · 08/03/2020 14:31

How is he when describing the act of love? I'm imagining his sausage fits nicely in your pantry and he can handle all that jelly that you've got?

slipperywhensparticus · 08/03/2020 14:32

Does he say pacificley? My ex did he stopped so we got married but now we are divorced he starts again he does it to annoy me and his mother drops her "h" around me too she goes from "how is everything?" To OW AM YA? in my presence it's honestly quite baffling

Arseit · 08/03/2020 14:32

@Pinkarsedfly has it.

LittleBlackCurlyHairs · 08/03/2020 14:33

He stands there with a gaping gob looking like a bloody whale shark.

Don’t even get me started on the sex, that’s probably the biggest problem of all and the phrases and sayings are just the tip of the iceberg

curlsnotfrizz · 08/03/2020 14:34

seeing that it is only seeming a guy rather than a DP/DH/DC involved, I'd run.

funny how such small things can kill it!

LittleBlackCurlyHairs · 08/03/2020 14:34

Yes he says Pacifically. You have to be pacific about it etc.

My friend once shagged a man who on looking down remarked on 'the beautiful union'..

AriadnesFilament · 08/03/2020 14:37

Is jellypeano a joke?! Or does he honestly think they’re called jellypeanos?!

Either way, he needs to go. “It’s not me, it’s you.”

LittleBlackCurlyHairs · 08/03/2020 14:39

No it’s not a joke, that’s how he says it 😂 I feel like rubbing the jellypeanos in his eyes when he says it

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 08/03/2020 14:40

Keep sure you nip this one in the bun lass.

Sounds a bit like my BIL. There's a reason I married the other brother instead.

onanothertrain · 08/03/2020 14:41

So just dump him then. No need to get random strangers to tell you he's a dick.

UnaCorda · 08/03/2020 14:41

He sounds a bit dim. Or he's trying to be funny (and failing).

Fortyquinn · 08/03/2020 14:43

I think we need to hear the sex phrases Wink

Laiste · 08/03/2020 14:45

Don’t even get me started on the sex, that’s probably the biggest problem of all and the phrases and sayings are just the tip of the iceberg

Well OP, it's important that you tell us ALL about it - sex weirdness included - so that we can have a good laugh interpret his behavior properly ....
