Posting for traffic. Can I get your podcast recommendations. I’ve been listening to true crime podcasts like Someone knows something, Serial and s.town. But need something a bit more lighthearted

Not read so might have already been mentioned. But 'My father wrote a Porno' is hilarious.

Collywibbles · 25/02/2020 21:13

If you like football then 'That Peter Crouch Podcast' is hilarious.

sadeyedladyofthelowlandsea · 25/02/2020 21:24

@Collywibbles I don't think you even have to be that much into football to love That Peter Crouch Podcast. He just comes across as SUCH a nice bloke!

I don't know if it's still available, but I used to like Flintoff, Savage & The Ping Pong Guy too.

Roominmyhouse · 25/02/2020 21:26

Adam Buxton
All Killa No Filla
RedHanded
You’re dead to me
Evil Genius

Most of those have already been mentioned but they are all really good!

FrankUnderwoodsWife · 25/02/2020 21:27

The Drop Out was excellent.

faw2009 · 25/02/2020 21:33

Joan and Jericha - outrageous. I'm sure they're on the verge of corpsing with the stuff they come out with.

Kermode & Mayo film reviews

Infinite Monkey Cage if you like science.

Newscast (formerly Brexitcast)

Reasons to be Cheerful

Desert Island Discs

You're Dead to Me

More or Less (if you like statistics!)

TinyTimsCrutch · 25/02/2020 21:37

Oh my days, I’m fairly new to the pod cast world all these will keep going for ages

sh*gged married annoyed is brilliant!

Bearlyawake · 25/02/2020 21:42

Shagged, Married, Annoyed. Very funny Grin

JulietTango · 25/02/2020 22:18

@sadeyedladyofthelowlandsea

Cheers

DressesWithPocketsRockMyWorld · 25/02/2020 22:26

No Such Thing as a Fish! From the makers of QI. Me and my family love love love it.

Shoppingwithmother · 25/02/2020 22:30

Fortunately...with Fi and Jane (Glover and Garvey from R4)

Older and Wider (Jenny Eclair and Judith Holder)

Athletico Mince - hilarious and it’s not really about football so don’t let that put you off

Rule of Three - a comedy writer guest talks to 2 comedy writer hosts about their favourite comedy “thing” - eg film, TV show, book etc

HeadSpin5 · 25/02/2020 22:30

Agree with loads of the above but especially Redhanded, absolute fave true crime podcast. And def My Dad Wrote a Porno but know you’ve already mentioned that one. Root of Evil and Paradise are both excellent though not lighthearted.

positivepixie · 25/02/2020 22:50

Hayley and Ruth - Two Stars

Podcast with two female comedians. I've been listening for a few months now, really enjoy it and has me smiling on the way to work.

Yabadee · 25/02/2020 22:51

Another one for shagged married annoyed 🙌🏻 Hilarious! I can do an hour in the gym without even noticing because I’m so busy laughing at those 2!

I’ve caught right up to the end now, after tomorrow’s instalment I’ll move onto the my dad wrote a porno one

Dearover · 25/02/2020 23:02

The Boring Talks, which cover topics like How Tall are Celebrities, Pencils and The Sound of Computer Games Loading.

bluejelly · 25/02/2020 23:08

How did we get here - with Tanya Byron and Claudia Winkelman. Fascinating eavesdrop on a therapy session. I always learn a lot.

PonderTweek · 25/02/2020 23:14

Seconding Athletico Mince and Gossipmongers. Both have had me howling (although I'm known to enjoy a rude joke - perhaps not for those that don't). Grin

WeeM · 25/02/2020 23:22

Not lighthearted as such but The Dream is interesting-looking into MLMs.

oopsdaisy · 25/02/2020 23:29

@autumntimebrowns BorrowBox is brilliant!

The Irish Passport - is good political history of Ireland

Guardian long read - cover some random subjects

Big fan of BBC radio 4 shows - woman's hour, analysis, the media show etc.

And if ever you can't nod off at night... today in parliament - nothing like someone droning on about new legislation or treasury spending... I'm usually asleep within 2 mins 😴

Not the lightest suggestions 😂

Thanks for posting the question! Am loving all the recommendations.

Chouxalacreme · 25/02/2020 23:38

Can’t believe no one has mentioned “ you me and the big c” it’s about cancer and how it effects people’s whole lives and is really interesting and sweet I’ve learnt so much

TickleMyTitsTilFriday · 25/02/2020 23:43

Crime Junkie- I'm addicted!

MuddlingThrough1724 · 25/02/2020 23:46

Don't think anyone has mentioned Table Manners yet, good if you like lighthearted celeb chat over a meal.

Moosiclover · 25/02/2020 23:54

Another one for Adam Buxton - especially the episodes where he’s talking to Louis Theroux, they are hilarious
