Strange thread title if they do. They'll have to stumble across it by accident as it tells them nothing Confused

user1473878824 · 15/02/2020 21:27

Oh come on, it’s a post meant with good intentions. Why are you having a go?

GaaaaarlicBread · 15/02/2020 21:28

@user1473878824 thank you , the intention was there. Can’t please everyone I guess x

GaaaaarlicBread · 15/02/2020 21:28

@WorraLiberty sorry

I'm not 'having a go' as you put it.

If someone is suicidal right now, surely a thread title with something like 'Samaritans Phone Number', would make them click it rather than "In case anyone needs this"?

Sparklesocks · 15/02/2020 21:32

I think it was meant in good faith Worra

slippermaiden · 15/02/2020 21:33

Worra I knew what this post would be for from the title.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 15/02/2020 21:33

You don't have to apologise. I think most people will know it was done with helpful intentions. I think Worra was a,bit harsh there, TBPH.
Hope you're feeling okay.

FenellaMaxwell · 15/02/2020 21:35

I would report and ask HQ to change your title - Worra has a point

74NewStreet · 15/02/2020 21:35

Are you psychic, slippermaiden? Hmm

WorraLiberty · 15/02/2020 21:37

Worra I knew what this post would be for from the title.

I genuinely thought it was a voucher code or something.

dudsville · 15/02/2020 21:39

I also knew what this post was likely to be about, because it's a phrase commonly used in memes.

74NewStreet · 15/02/2020 21:40

What, duds? Confused

SnugglySnerd · 15/02/2020 21:40

I assumed it would be some sort of helpline or support agency from the title eg domestic abuse or homelessness. I wasn't quite right but something about the title made me think it would be some sort of help for people.

RitaMills · 15/02/2020 21:41

I had a fair idea what this thread would be about.

If it’s still front page in two, three days sadly today’s news will be old news and it’ll be overlooked by its target audience.

It is a lovely to do though OP

DailyKegelReminder · 15/02/2020 21:48

Very thoughtful OP

DailyKegelReminder · 15/02/2020 21:49

Same as duds here.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 15/02/2020 21:50

I also thought it would be a discount code or life tip or similar.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 15/02/2020 21:51

Still, at least it's better than those shit 100% virtu signalling memes on fb which tell people to share and comment, and usually have incorrect phone numbers on.

user1473878824 · 15/02/2020 21:53

You’re right, @WorraLiberty, but also you could have just said that without making it sound like the OP did something wrong. Though I’m sorry if I’ve misread your tone.

ILoveMyCaravan · 15/02/2020 21:59

I knew exactly what the thread title meant. I felt suicidal two days ago. Maybe that's why.

EuroMillionsWinner · 15/02/2020 21:59

I thought this would have a voucher code.

Grumpos · 15/02/2020 22:00

If you know you know.
It’s a common phrase used in a lot in the body positivity and mental health movements.

Thanks OP, ironic someone can find issues with a genuine post regarding suicide prevention and mental health support. Confused

GaaaaarlicBread · 15/02/2020 22:02

It just goes to show you can’t please everyone and someone will always have something to say even if you have the best intentions at heart. I’ve asked MumsNet to change the title to be more clear .

OP posts:
FakeFraudSquad · 15/02/2020 22:04

I knew what this was going to be about. I was suicidal back in Nov/Dec totally out of the blue and I’m still on the path to recovery.

Thank you OP, it’s kind people like you who are helping me back on my feet. And nasty ones that dragged me down into the dark in the first place.

Why the need to nit pick with a person who is trying to do a bit of good? Does it make you feel better about yourself to be so negative to others?
