I really couldn't care less about Philip Schofield's sexuality (or anyone else's) and good for him for finally being true to himself. But what makes me quite cross is all this talk of honesty and bravery, and the self-indulgent, tortured confessional in front of the nation when really it's of no importance to anyone who doesn't know him personally.

In the clip of his chat with Holly he asks repeatedly, "When is the right time?" In my opinion, the right time is before you get married to someone who believes you are straight. It's not brave, or honest, to make someone unwittingly provide you with the benefits of a heterosexual relationship, including children, so you can be viewed by the public as a "respectable family man". It's actually rather selfish.

I had a brief relationship with someone who I later discovered was gay. He didn't even have the balls to tell me directly, and it seriously screwed me up for a long time. I can't imagine what it must be like to find out your husband of 27 years is homosexual.

I'm not gay, so perhaps I am being unreasonable as I don't know what it is like to come out to friends and family (although I imagine it is easier now than it was thirty years ago) and I don't know whether PS really believed that he was in love with his wife when they got married. But I do think that leaving a duplicitous life which affects other people is not a kind or honourable thing to do and I feel very sorry for his wife and daughters who I think really have been brave.

I’d put my house on it that PM knows the full story. He worked for The Sun back in the late 80s early 90s. If anyone can be arsed to dig back into the Sun’s archives from that period there will probably be articles written about PS (maybe even by PM himself) and his suspected gay antics. It was well known by people working at the BBC during that time what he was up to.

Without a doubt PM is unable to say anything due to being on ITVs payroll. Had he still been a newspaper editor it would probably be a different story......

The more I think of it the more disturbing it is. His behaviour has been questionable for a while, his fixation with social media and in particular Snapchat seemed like a desperate attempt to connect with kids and make himself ‘cool’. Now it’s quite sinister, he also accidentally on purpose uploaded a photo of his bare bottom onto Snapchat.

i totally think this.i have no issues with anyones sexuality.but i do feel sorry for his wife and children.shes more of a woman then i could be coz i would go mad.hes wasted 27yrs of her life based on a lie. how is she being so calm about this? his daughters must be upset for their mother.x

As a lot of us said on this thread and other forums, there’s evidence pointing to the fact that Stephanie Lowe knew from the start PS was gay/bi-sexual. She worked with him prior to dating him at the BBC, so no doubt was privy to the fact his homosexuality wasn’t a secret back then.

Her, and her family’s upset is probably caused by the revolution of the inappropriateness of PS dating MM...... No doubt they are on tenterhooks waiting for something to leak out.

yes, regardless of superinjunctions etc, it seems odd that everything is being buried so well. Altho, Sun on Sunday might be when it's all going to come out - that's usually where those reveals are.

I've just googled it too. It's the reflection of his bum in a shower door/window. The word thing is that you can also see his face straight on. So hes actually contorted into an unnatural pose, so you can see his face and his arse. So.....accidental? Probably not.

Piers Morgan is on the ITV payroll and has probably been told to keep quiet about this!! Just my opinion , but his usually pretty vocal about other things so it is unusual.

Ive actually seen this sort of thing in action. Our ex housing officer is gay but had no problem discriminating against DH re. disability.

Just because someone is in an oppressed group does not only mean that they may not recognise or acknowledge oppression in another group but that they can also be guilty of discrimination themselves.

Many reasons......maybe his previous conquests had just as much as him to lose, so had no desire to out-him/sell their story. Maybe some tried to go to the papers but we’re paid off, who knows?

Schofe is a pretty big star in the Uk. There's a lot of people on his and ITV's payroll. One kiss and tell could have ruined everything; that's why the papers have never run one. People can only write kiss and tells if the papers will print them, which in the case of big stars, they often won't.
