Just come across Penis Beaker again and I'm crying with laughter Grin

AIBU to ask for yours? Penis beaker is definitely my favourite thread here!

The one where the op came back like 5 years later and answered her own question 😂

vadam · 21/01/2020 20:11

@DontGoIntoTheLongGrass Haha, I've seen instances of this but on Twitter. What was the OP asking?

This is, for me, the most memorable MN thread. It’s not an easy read, but my goodness, it stays with you.

Ignore that link, it goes to the last page. This goes to the start...

@WarmSausageTea I've read that one before, so sad that EarthMother passed Thanks bless her.

I have a fondness for the Sistine Chapel screamer.

WarmSausageTea · 21/01/2020 20:24

I know, @vadam, life can be so shitty and so cruel.

YesILikeItToo · 21/01/2020 20:24

The thread where the OP had passed a friend in her car twice in rapid succession driving home. The friend looked shocked the second time and rang her that evening to ask what weird time loop they’d got into. It was great fun discussing the woo, and the icing on the cake was it turned out that the friend then admitted arranging it with a bit of quick thinking and driving around a couple of farm roads. Just seemed a high quality bit of pranking.

DontGoIntoTheLongGrass · 21/01/2020 20:33

FenellaMaxwell has it! Grin

So, so many. Cancel the cheque has a special place in my affections because it brought me to MN. The woman horrified that her husband wasn’t full on ‘a whole tin’ of soup, because it introduced me to the weirdness of MN eating habits. The woman who claimed her nephew had excluded her from her wedding who popped up with ‘You’ll never guess what’s happened NOW!’ and another outlandish instalment every time the thread was in danger of going quiet.

However, I think if I had to pick a favourite, it would be the woman who sent pizza, flowers and balloons to her daughter’s school on her birthday and complained that the staff hadn’t wanted to sort out a room for the daughter and her friends to eat, hadn’t delivered the flowers to her desk etc. It was batshit, but not next level batshit at first - until she started replying that she pitied all our poor children, who would never feel loved or special in their lives. And THEN one of the few posters who did agree with her took up the mantle and got way more intense than the OP had been, trying to claim lack of pizza parties in school would hold children back in life, discourage them from ever ‘putting their heads above the parapet and daring to be different’. No one would EVER be so provincial and pizzaless in the US. She even tried to link it to boys doing better than girls at senior school.

MrsToothyBitch · 21/01/2020 20:48

I like quite a few. The dolphins are evil one is both hilarious and informative! T-rexing in ASDA, Sinister Easter Bonnet. Loved scary toys last week! Also the OP who discovered her Dds hamster dead on the Dds bday so wanted to check whether she could put it in the freezer to keep & then "discover" it dead the next day to avoid spoiling the birthday!

SomewhereInbetween1 · 21/01/2020 20:59

The first post I ever laughed out loud at was this poor mum who admitted to having a dodgy tummy a little while before the morning school run. She's just dropped off her children at school and made back to the safety of her car to have a very satisfying, but as it turned out, horrendously smelling fart, and as she finished a friend knocked on her car window and she had to roll it down to say hello. Apparently the look on the poor woman's face was pure gold.

@WarmSausageTea

SadSad

I wasn’t expecting that. I haven’t been on MN that long! Such a sad thread.

WarmSausageTea · 21/01/2020 22:30

Terribly sad, but hopefully there’s a 10 year-old out there somewhere thriving because of EMIN and taking a little bit of her with them.

sassbott · 21/01/2020 22:33

The recent one in relationships about the bad date where the bloke sprayed toilet air freshener in his beard. ‘Twas a proper good un

crispysausagerolls · 21/01/2020 22:37

There was one where someone was just posting absolute nonsense and it was fucking brilliant. I can’t even remember it but it was just hilarious.

namechange1041 · 21/01/2020 22:38

The baby gate martyr when OP wouldn't tell anyone how old her child was then everyone started guessing on the child's ageGrin

Dontlikeoranges · 21/01/2020 22:38

Ohhhh yes EMIN, I've cried again tonight about her. I've read so many things over the years here but by god, nothing touched me as much as that.

Eckhart · 21/01/2020 22:40

After several minutes of uncontrollable laughter having read the Hauck Stroller thread above, I've recovered enough to ask if anyone knows why there was all that talk of spider willies a few months ago? I don't think I ever saw the actual thread, but the concept of people concerning themselves about spiders' willies is very amusing to me!

Colinthedaxi · 21/01/2020 22:47

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnet_classics/2586932-Dating-again-gulp-after-being-widowed

This one, I'd just been widowed and it was so beautifully written and gave me hope :-)

YouTheCat · 21/01/2020 22:50

The one where the OP was expected by the bride to do all the artful arranging of stuff for her wedding. The bride sent OP a save the date and then didn't invite her to any of the wedding at all but still expected her to provide decorations. I think it might have been TidyDancer?

JaceLancs · 21/01/2020 22:52

It was actually one from style and beauty about some Clark’s sandals with a weird kind of sock attached!
If anyone can find it I’d be really grateful - I don’t often manage a full on belly laugh and that thread did it for me!

BackforGood · 21/01/2020 23:19

The little Korean woman Grin

YesILikeItToo · 21/01/2020 23:32

Eckhart the spider willies are a facetious explanation for why a surprising number of MNers are worried that if they leave their washing on the line overnight it will ‘get darked on’.
