Do you enjoy smoking?

Aibu- are there smokers on here? Or closet smokers like myself?

I quit 20 years ago at the age of 22. I knew I was ready to quit because I was embarrassed smoking in public, I didn't want to be known as a smoker.

The first week was horrendous. Then it got better and I can honestly say I don't ever miss them and I do look at smokers with pity.

Quitting changed my life, I saved up and travelled the world. I wouldn't even take an 8 hour flight before that because I knew I'd need a cigarette and just didn't think I'd cope.

Yes, unfortunately I love it! 😳 I quit with a vape (cold turkey on the actual cigs) for 3yrs. Then stupidly started again! It's a massive expense, terrible health risks, and I generally feel pretty much a social outcast (plus I'm aware my hair/clothes stink!). However, I do enjoy it (as much can be said for that 🙄). And I do tell myself I will quit again soon-ish (definately believe your mindset has to be in it though). But... Its an addiction and a bad habit I'm obviously willing to pay for. I work ft, budget accordingly, and surprisingly have a very decent reading at my GP's on the lung capacity blower thing (yes, I'm well aware that's not covering underlying possible issues!).

I loved smoking until my DM got lung cancer and I had to stop because she quit and I couldn’t smoke around her. We both miss the evening cigarettes the most.

I gave up cigarettes over 4 years ago but some days I could eat one. The cravings never quite go away although they soon pass.

I can average potentially 1 a day to 10 at most (on a day that includes a night out/alcohol), the 2 always seem to go hand in hand 😒. I can also go the majority of the day without smoking if spending time with friends who don't. Yet if someone else lights up I immediately want to join in. Not sure if that makes me a 'social smoker', or just a pathetic caver to peer pressure 😁

I stopped at new year, but I loved it. Even loved having one outside in the cold and rain.

I have always loved smoking on a night out with alcohol involved. When sober I’ve never enjoyed it but used to do it sometimes. Also when I’m really stressed nothing would calm me down like a cigarette! I don’t smoke now but if I went on a night out (which I never do at the moment as two small kids) I would be tempted and probably give it to a roll-up or two!
