You must have a Ewan the sheep.. said everybody ever.

What so I can get myself into a vicious circle of DD staring at it awake for hours, not sleeping, then every time it times out cries until it’s back ok?

Agh feck off Ewan you pulsating twot.

Ewan is amazing for my child......! You’ll grow to love him.

namechangenewness · 12/01/2020 00:46

Ahh, I have 3 DC and always looked at them but never got one. Lucky escape it seems.

Biancadelrioisback · 12/01/2020 00:49

I can't sleep without Ewan.

SexlessBoulderBelly · 12/01/2020 00:51

@Biancadelrioisback neither can my bloody DP so it may seem! Grin

I like the range of threads op...

I had a non sleeper too. It’s ok, she’s 9 now so she reads her own kindle quietly whilst I go to sleep Wink

SexlessBoulderBelly · 12/01/2020 00:56

@TheGirlWhoLived

I would read a book to pass the time, but I can’t flip the page because I’m busy patting a restless bum.

Rather than bottling my feelings I like to post them to mumsnet. That way everyone that actually knows me still thinks I’m sane.

I loved Ewan when my dd was much younger. He was my saviour

Yellowmellowgem · 12/01/2020 01:08

Would have been more useful for us to spend the £40 on coffee. When DS learns to laugh it will be laughing at us attempting to get him to sleep with a useless sheep.

Pleased it works for some but also pleased we don’t have the only baby that just stares at it not sleeping.

RumRumRum · 12/01/2020 01:08

We have a Ewan - it's a waste of money. Just download a free white noise app and play that. 20 minutes is no way near long enough to keep baby settled, and the deluxe just eats batteries. Putting ours on eBay Grin

pastabest · 12/01/2020 01:14

why the fuck did they make it non washable

and non remote controllable

SexlessBoulderBelly · 12/01/2020 01:15

@pastabest oh yes! My post section abs are loving the strain of twisting over to turn the bastard on every 20 minutes.

I hate you Ewan.

Just found our Ewan the other day, had completely forgotten about the useless fucker. It was a gift from a friend. He was soon ditched in favour of a white noise machine. Good luck op!

Dcle · 12/01/2020 06:40

Seriously stick with him, it gets better. My just turned 4 year old has had ewan since day 1 and now when she wakes up she sticks it on herself and goes back to sleep.

Comps83 · 12/01/2020 07:00

I like Ewan . He has helped me sleep a few times
Baby on the other hand couldn’t give a shit. I don’t think he even knows Ewan is there yet , either that or it makes him worse , I’m not sure

DinoGreen · 12/01/2020 07:05

I loved Ewan. Really missed his gentle soothing noise when DS moved into his own room!

Indecisivelurcher · 12/01/2020 07:06

Get a white noise machine instead, they're about £20 if that on amazon. My 5yo and 2.5yo both have theirs on still.

Elbeagle · 12/01/2020 07:06

Haha, we are a Ewan loving house! We have three of them... 6 and 4 year olds still have the harp music on to get them to sleep Blush.
Would be a hell of a lot better if they didn’t switch off after 20 mins though.

Elbeagle · 12/01/2020 07:07

Dcle my 6 and 4 year olds do that too! I sometimes wake up and hear Ewan coming from one of their rooms. Lifesaver here!

tattiehat · 12/01/2020 07:07

We have two Ewan's in our house! The first stopped working as DD used to suck his legs which affected the electronics.
DD is 4 now and still loves both of them!

NoParticularPattern · 12/01/2020 07:12

I’ve tried Ewan with two children and he’s just a joyless sack of broken dreams. There’s definitely no dreaming and I’m questioning if he’s actually a sheep. Would it be considered unethical to turn him into a dartboard cover?

Newbie1981 · 12/01/2020 07:15

Ewan saved my life

2BoysLoading · 12/01/2020 07:21

I had Ewan with my first - agree a load of rubbish I now have an Ollie the Owl, so much better. It plays for 20 minutes (either melody or white noise), but will come back on when baby stirs or cries. Has an optional nightlight too.

Newbie1981 · 12/01/2020 07:34

@2BoysLoading my Ewan does that. Ya'll bought the wrong one. Ewan delux comes back on when he stirs. And also I've washed it about a zillion times and it's fine!

BellaNutella88 · 12/01/2020 07:39

Ewan was a complete waste of money and is just a teddy basically now. It’s too quiet for a start to soothe a crying baby ! We use white noise on our phones if needed. And we have a my pal scout which we play the 5 minute bedtime music on as part of our bedtime routine. Ewan is just another in a long list of me wasting money since my child was born.

Monstermummymum · 12/01/2020 07:41

Get a Google home or alexa- 12 hours of white noise straight and the battery doesn't run out! Life changing. I never loved Ewan- 20 mins is not enough.
