You must have a Ewan the sheep.. said everybody ever.

What so I can get myself into a vicious circle of DD staring at it awake for hours, not sleeping, then every time it times out cries until it’s back ok?

Agh feck off Ewan you pulsating twot.

We never tried Ewan, he creeps me out a bit. We use alexa for white noise all night and now I need it to sleep! Damn kids!

Urkiddingright · 12/01/2020 11:36

We used the MyHummy which came back on whenever DS stirred. It was too quiet though so I ended up selling it on eBay and just used white noise on my phone.

SexlessBoulderBelly · 12/01/2020 12:00

I have got the washable ‘deluxe’ bastard.

He doesn’t come on when she cries though.

I find the ‘shhing’ track really creepy. I thought it would help DD as I often ‘shh’ her to sleep when she stirs.. but I led awake scared shiteless listening to someone else’s voice ‘shhing’ my child to sleep. Just weird.

Nooooo I love Ewan. His tune has been the theme to my life for the last 7 years. Plus you know how long you've been awake by the number of times you've pressed his foot.

DesLynamsMoustache · 12/01/2020 12:42

We got a MyHummy and it was fine but we should have just got a cheap white noise machine, which we now have. It was like a tenner on Amazon.

IMO that’s so depressing for me 😩😩

We use to call him the creepy sheepy 😁

Smithlets80 · 12/01/2020 13:18

If you have the deluxe version it should go back on when they cry. When he is off, press and hold the button until it beeps - once for that mode to be turned on and three times for it to turn off.

SexlessBoulderBelly I would second buying an Echo dot - I play womb sounds on volume 6 until we go to bed and then turn it to volume 2 for during the night. It works like magic!

Abouttimemum · 12/01/2020 13:23

I think I got the only baby that needs total silence to go to sleep. Much like his mum.
Not his dad sadly who will nod off at the drop of a hat and then snore incessantly.

Every single type of baby mobile / white noise etc was rendered absolutely useless.

Lunafortheloveogod · 12/01/2020 13:29

Ewan is my hero..

He puts DP to sleep quicker than any bloody drug known to man.. I don’t have to listen to half an hour of drivel when I’m trying to sleep Grin.

Ds liked it too, never picked up him fussing either but it worked if I spoke.. surprised the Christmas cards from neighbours didn’t include Ewan.

Lailaha · 12/01/2020 14:12

Ewan is a tool of the devil that looks monstrous on a baby monitor to boot. Creepy fucker! (Wouldn't have minded his evident psychopathy so much if he'd actually worked as intended, tbf)

BonnieSeptember · 12/01/2020 14:16

It needs a remote and an option of staying on for longer than 20 mins. I'm not sure whether to being on helps my little boy to get to sleep but he seems to notice it going off if he's not in a deep enough sleep!

BonnieSeptember · 12/01/2020 14:18

Also @Smithlets80 is right... If you turn the cry settling on it works really well :)

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 12/01/2020 15:08

Bethan Myfanwy Hughes does the harp track for Ewan (I think). She has similar stuff on Spotify/amazon music that you can loop all night on Alexa/google home.

hennaoj · 13/01/2020 21:17

I got one in desperation for my then 4 year old autistic son. It scared him, just looking at the thing was scary before it was even on!
