Put your hands in front of you with your index fingers pointing at each other about 1cm apart

Rotate them simultaneously so they stay in time with each other but one has to go away from you and the other has to come towards you.

My teenagers say you're welcome.

Yes, I just tried it. Either it’s easy or I’m doing it wrong.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 02/01/2020 22:30

Yes, but it’s really easy to lose it and start mirroring

sockittome123 · 02/01/2020 22:31

What do you mean, like pointing inwards? Am I rotating my finger or my entire hand? And which way do you mean?

You know what this means... a diagram is needed!

WireBrushAndDettolMaam · 02/01/2020 22:32

No Grin

TARSCOUT · 02/01/2020 22:33

Omg that's so hard!!!!

Prisonbreak · 02/01/2020 22:36

I must be doing it wrong cos it’s so easy

TARSCOUT · 02/01/2020 22:36

Ha ha ha DP can't so it either 🤣

DowntownAbby · 02/01/2020 22:37

That's weird!

So difficult to keep them in time, isn't it?

Cocolapew · 02/01/2020 22:38

Nope can't do it Sad

schoolcats · 02/01/2020 22:39

I tried to find a youtube video to show it but couldn't - not sure how a diagram would help.

Easy! or i'm doing it wrong too.

Do any of the other 'easy' people play an instrument? I played the flute at school but whenever I play a random game like this I always find it easy to move my hands/fingers as needed.

JingleAllTheWayhohoho · 02/01/2020 22:46

That is fucking impossible. (And I also played the flute, camomila)

merryhouse · 02/01/2020 22:47

One of our karate warm-up exercises is doing this with the arms

(if you do it right it rotates the hips beautifully, which is a Major Thing in our particular style)

Most of the little kids can't do it at all, obviously. I spent weeks concentrating like mad on just the arm that was in front of me, and can do it almost without thinking now (seven years later). One of the third-dans can do it one way but not the other Grin

BouleBaker · 02/01/2020 23:02

I can do it. But I spent much of my youth doing warm up exercises for gymnastics and arm rotating of all descriptions was common.

lilgreen · 02/01/2020 23:04

No I can’t do it!

edsheeransgingerbeard · 02/01/2020 23:07

I need a video of this as I still can't work out what to do Confused

mineofuselessinformation · 02/01/2020 23:12

It's a craze.
I've seen lots of my students doing this, but usually with a hairband on their wrists.

Nearlyalmost50 · 02/01/2020 23:21

I don't get it! So that's a no then, after a few trys.

PenguinsOnParade · 02/01/2020 23:24

I found it easy but I was a clarinet player so that may help.

WheresMyChocolate · 02/01/2020 23:30

You have to rotate both fingers clockwise or both counter clockwise.

Natsel84 · 02/01/2020 23:44

That's impossible , although I can do the pat your head and rub your stomach thing at the same time

Floralnomad · 02/01/2020 23:47

If I’m doing it correctly it’s easy , but I’m fairly ambidextrous - write right handed , play tennis / cricket left handed .

BackforGood · 02/01/2020 23:51

Yes - but I''m concentrating and doing it slowly.

Jessica7689 · 02/01/2020 23:53

Easy (presuming I’m doing what you’re describing).

Former cellist and pianist if relevant.

DustyMaiden · 02/01/2020 23:55

Easy, but I’ve always used both hands. I will stir gravy with one hand whilst making coffee with the other, thought this was normal.
