Put your hands in front of you with your index fingers pointing at each other about 1cm apart

Rotate them simultaneously so they stay in time with each other but one has to go away from you and the other has to come towards you.

My teenagers say you're welcome.

It took a few false starts but it is now fairly easy.

Northernsoullover · 02/01/2020 23:56

Tried again. First success was clearly a fluke.

Disquieted1 · 03/01/2020 00:00

I can't do it.
Former gynaecologist if relevant.

managedmis · 03/01/2020 00:01

I never understand stuff like that

Shodan · 03/01/2020 00:02

One of our karate warm-up exercises is doing this with the arms

I was just coming on to say exactly this! I wonder if we're in the same club Grin

I can do the finger thing but lose it after a while.

Saracen · 03/01/2020 00:03

Easy. My index fingers don't continue to point very precisely towards each other: does that matter?

I don't play an instrument and am not generally very dexterous. So maybe I have misunderstood what I should be doing.

Oh, and I started slow before speeding up.

ChristmasCarcass · 03/01/2020 00:06

Rotating fingers or drawing circles? Rotating is a piece of piss, drawing circles is a bit harder but not that hard.

Played piano as a child, left handed but quite good with my right hand for most stuff.

73Sunglasslover · 03/01/2020 00:12

Easy! Why do some people find this hard? anyone know?

Daisydad · 03/01/2020 00:13

I can only do it successfully with my eyes closed!

Caribbeanescape · 03/01/2020 00:16

I can do it, and find it quite easy. I play the piano and flute, maybe that helps.

MrsBungle · 03/01/2020 00:17

I can’t do it!

AFemale · 03/01/2020 00:18

My dd has been doing a few of these with us recently. There's one about drawing a clockwise square and and anti clockwise triangle in the air.

The chair challenge has been our fave and it's won me money from most of the men in my family as they don't believe I'd be able to lift a chair that they couldn't and I bet then £5 that I can 😂

Rosebel · 03/01/2020 00:19

It's hard. Me and my husband manager it but not easy.

AFemale · 03/01/2020 00:21

In case anyone wants to try it.

MiddleClassProblem · 03/01/2020 00:21

It’s this, right?

Index fingers point each other like if there was an imaginary finger trap in the middle.

Then draw circles in opposite directions (away from you and towards you) with each finger keeping them in time.

schoolcats · 03/01/2020 00:28

You have to rotate both fingers clockwise or both counter clockwise

No you don't, the whole point is that one is clockwise and one is counter clockwise.

I can do it! It helps if I think of doing a figure of 8 in separate parts

IhateBoswell · 03/01/2020 00:59

My teenagers say you're welcome.

Your teenagers are arseholes 😬

I can't do it! It's making my toes curl trying! 😠

schoolcats · 03/01/2020 01:20

Your teenagers are arseholes 😬

Aren't they all at times ? Grin

They can't do it either so we all had fun watching each other try Grin

hiddenmnetter · 03/01/2020 09:32

It's it rotating your hand so your wrist is the axis in opposite directions? Or is it trying to describe an arc with the tips of your index fingers in opposite directions? (So essentially your elbow is a pivot on which the arc is described?)

schoolcats · 03/01/2020 14:54

Just your index fingers

OP posts:
sockittome123 · 03/01/2020 15:00

I managed it for a few seconds, then stopped and now I can't do it again!

Yarboosucks · 03/01/2020 15:06

I can do it, but it is much easier if I do not look directly at my fingers

Chesntoots · 03/01/2020 15:15

Holy fuck, that took me ages to do! I can now drive everyone crazy with that tomorrow at work.

Bluntness100 · 03/01/2020 15:18

It's quite easy. Point your index fingers to each other and then rotate them in opposite directions. One rotates clock wise, the other anti clock wise. At the same time.

No I can't do it either,
