Ironing bedding?

Jadefeather7 · 28/12/2019 19:48

Do you iron your bedding, get it ironed or do you have crinkled sheets on your bed?
I have some pollycotton stuff which doesn’t crinkle too much. Thinking about getting pure cottonNow but I hate creased material!!

Fuck, no. I've got better things to do!

It's all cotton and it goes straight back on the bed whether it's been tumble-dried or not. It'll end up creased enough when I've slept on it so ironing it seems rather a waste of time.

CalmFizz · 28/12/2019 20:22

I find ironing and making the bed takes 20/30 minutes which i usually do while watching the tv once a week.

I find bedding the easiest thing to iron as it’s just straight lines.

BarbedBloom · 28/12/2019 20:22

Nope, I don't iron much really and I buy clothes with that in mind

bridgetreilly · 28/12/2019 20:24

I have 100% cotton and I never iron it. I know it would be nicer, but life is too short, imo.

TheFairyCaravan · 28/12/2019 20:24

I iron ours. We've got a super king sized bed too. I've got a steam generator iron so it doesn't take long. I don't like to see creased bedding.

Growingboys · 28/12/2019 20:24

I send ours to the laundrette to be washed dans ironed as its super king and used to take forever when I did it.

I iron the children's sheets.

Couldn't bear to sleep in wrinkled sheets.

Yup, always iron my bedding even the fitted sheets.

BadEyeBri · 28/12/2019 20:31

I don't even know where our iron lives. We must have one. We have a board.

Anotherdayanothernight · 28/12/2019 20:34

Most of the time I iron pillow cases and cover, feels a lot nicer with ironed cotton, but if I'm really busy at work, no

CokeAndCrispsAndDip · 28/12/2019 20:39

I iron it all. Makes it more compact and easier to store. Do what pleases you

Squirrelblanket · 28/12/2019 20:41

Neither, I don't iron it and it's not crinkled.

Notso · 28/12/2019 20:42

I prefer it to be ironed and I iron 20 shirts a week anyway so a few sheets doesn't really make much difference.

RubyRedz · 28/12/2019 20:46

Ironing bedding is pointless!
Mine comes straight out of the tumble dryer so no creases here.

PlanDeRaccordement · 28/12/2019 20:46

I iron as little as possible. Never sheets.
I’m still angry at the school for changing the uniform this year resulting in dress shirts that require ironing!

LaurieMarlow · 28/12/2019 20:51

I find ironing an appalling imposition on my time, so I never do it (apart from a wedding outfit or similar).

No fucking way am i ironing sheets. I have a million things I’d rather be doing.

Only 100% cotton in my house. I dry on the line and use fitted sheets. They don’t strike me as particularly creased, or nothing that I’d notice.

DappledThings · 28/12/2019 20:53

I iron pretty much everything. Do it in front of the tv and quite like it as it makes me concentrate on watching something and not get distracted by my phone.

I iron more for storage than presentation. I like putting away ironed stuff more than I do folding a load of stuff straight from the line.

Moominfan · 28/12/2019 20:54

Life is very short

user1487194234 · 28/12/2019 20:56

All bedding ironed Usually (always!) by cleaning lady

clary · 28/12/2019 20:58

I have all cotton bedding with a high thread count which is one reason why I iron it.

I don't judge those who don't tho, and my ironing avowal is commonly met with horror 😂

tillytrotter1 · 28/12/2019 21:00

I iron the duvet cover and pillowcases, the fitted sheet I tend not to if I can get away with it. I wouldn't have poly-cotton in the house anymore, it's like sand-paper after a short while, having cotton does mean it needs ironing though, I'm a total slob generally but I do love fresh, smooth bedding.

DramaAlpaca · 28/12/2019 21:02

I can't be bothered to iron bed linen, such a waste of time.

I only iron clothes when I absolutely have to.

Readthisearlier · 28/12/2019 21:03

I can't imagine having a life so empty I'd feel the need or have the time to iron bedding.

Parker231 · 28/12/2019 21:08

No time to ironing bedding - put it in the tumble dryer and then straight out and onto the bed - perfect.
