I personally feel money could buy happiness
Do you agree?

Of course it would. It can't buy health unfortunately.

Bunkerlife · 25/12/2019 20:00

Happiness comes from within it isn't something you can buy or get from external sources.
Money can however give you security and reduce the stress you have in your life.

Apackoflips · 25/12/2019 20:01

If all of your troubles were caused by lack of money then yes.

Bibbidybobbidybastardingboo · 25/12/2019 20:01

There are many things that money can't solve, but overall I'd agree with you. Money buys choices. Choice = happiness.

nocluewhattodoo · 25/12/2019 20:01

Yes, money would solve almost all of my issues and take away the daily stresses that make life miserable. But if you already have enough to cover the basics then I don't think more money or stuff is going to increase your happiness a great deal.

CarolinaPink · 25/12/2019 20:01

Yes!

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 25/12/2019 20:02

No.
Money can buy freedom from financial unhappiness but it won’t make you happy if there are other issues in your life.

Lack of money can make you unhappy. Money makes life easier but it doesn’t necessarily make you happier.

nonamemummy · 25/12/2019 20:02

Could buy better healthcare though Wink
Money would solve all my problems. I’d have no worries, so I believe money could buy happiness

I’m what a lot of people would consider rich. I’m not a billionaire but I certainly don’t ever think about how much I spend or how I’m going to pay for things. I’m married to a man who pretends I don’t exist that for many reasons I’m struggling to leave. It certainly takes away a lot of the worries though.

Angeldust747 · 25/12/2019 20:04

I think money would solve 80% of most peoples problems, but unfortunately it can't solve 'people' problems like mental health, family strain, infertility and friendship problems x

PhantomErik · 25/12/2019 20:05

Yes! Money can buy security, peace of mind, experiences, time with loved ones, time saving devices & good food!

Obviously it can't buy everything but money makes life much easier!

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 25/12/2019 20:06

Do you think Anders Holch Povlsen is happy? He is a billionaire.

BackOnceAgainWithATinselHalo · 25/12/2019 20:09

Yes and no (so I voted yanbu!) I think without a certain amount it’s very hard to get enough freedom to feel happy. But, I read something a while back that said that everyone things they’d be perfectly happy if they just had 10% money than they do. Everyone! So I think that suggests if you go down that road you never stop chasing.

I think the sweet spot is to get to a point where you have more coming in but you haven’t upgraded your life style to the new amount so you feel that ‘first month of new job’ feeling all the time. I’m not there! But that’s the dream!

megletthesecond · 25/12/2019 20:09

I don't think it would definitely buy happiness but it would buy choices, freedom and better health. I know I'd be happier with more money.
Money would buy MH therapy, holidays, a bigger house, replace things that break etc.....

dontyouwishyour · 25/12/2019 20:09

No money doesn't really make you happy. It's nice to not worry about what you are spending but it doesnt get rid of everyday stress and strain. It makes you happy in the sense that you can treat other people and pay your bills but I still wake in the night with anxiety about family health issues etc.. Yoga makes me happy and relaxed.

Babybel90 · 25/12/2019 20:12

I often think the only people you hear saying money won’t make you happy are people who have plenty of it and have never been without it.

Wildthyme · 25/12/2019 20:13

It's more comfortable crying in a Mercedes than on a 2nd hand bike.

myself2020 · 25/12/2019 20:13

It certainly helps. our oldest has SENDs, being able to afford a good private school means we never have to fight school, apply multiple times for tiny amounts of funding etc. Its just done. It reduces stress snd worry a lot!

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 25/12/2019 20:13

Of course no one is going to think Anders Holch Povlsen is happy or content or his wealth will bring his happiness.

Money makes life easier it doesn’t take away emotional pain from loss.

Yes money at the moment would make my life much happier I am struggling financially and it’s is making me very anxious and low in mood it’s a constant worry

FruitcakeOfHate · 25/12/2019 20:13

Yes!

Verily1 · 25/12/2019 20:14

Not having enough for basics is not a route to a happy life but when a decent lifestyle is achieved extra money will give diminishing marginal returns.

Ambrose2 · 25/12/2019 20:14

Money could buy me happiness. Or at least a house and actually I think that would make me so dammed happy after years in a vicious circle of council temporary accommodation and substandard overpriced private rentals. I think that would make my kids happy too. A bedroom each and a garden to play in. Yes I'd still be fat, friend less, in shit health etc. But I would be happy with a house despite all that.

Purpletigers · 25/12/2019 20:15

Yes
