Of all the things to remake who decided to make this!
It was creepy the first time as a child (many many years of nightmares)
Why would anyone want to watch a sinister scarecrow with multiple personality disorder, hardly festive.
What next? Freddy Krueger and Mr Tumble do Lapland?

YABU = Worzel is lovely and Aunt Sally a feminist icon.
YANBU = it was terrifying then and we should never EVER revisit it.
fucking scary scruffy bastard

YABU - Worzel was great, no need for a remake though, can’t improve on a classic!

That’s no way to speak about Jeremy Corbyn!

The voting function is not for the OP to set the values. It is for others to vote on your premise. Therefore YABU.

Sean Pertwee should have done it as a homage to his dad and he woulda been sexy Worzel Wink

LoseLooseLucy · 18/12/2019 09:40

Sean Pertwee definitely has the sex appeal.

I LOVED Worzel Gummidge. My mum even took us to some sort of Worzel exhibition somewhere in the 80s. I used to borrow the Worzel Gummidge LP from the library, featuring classics like “A Cup of Tea and a Slice of Cake”. Think I was an odd child.

The remake looks horrible!

According to Wikipedia Lucy he had several interchangeable heads, I think this was one of those early Sunday evening programmes possibly before or after Bullseye ?

@HorridHamble, I can still sing "A slice of cake, and a cup of tea"...Blush

I'm really looking forward to this. I LOVED Worzel Gummidge. I don't even remember it being creepy/scary, but I've always had a dark/warped sense of humour.

It scared me witless. I will not be watching

For some reason I remember it being on in the morning x2boys, could be wrong though (definitely watched Bullseye though I loved it Grin. The heads are the thing I remember most, I always got a slightly sinister feeling from it.

Perfect job for Boris anyway. He's not doing anything more important is he?

I loved Worzel Gummidge as a kid but was a little bit scared when he changed his head. It was a classic though!

I still say to my kids "let's have a cup of tea and a slice of cake!"

Also vaguely recall the song where he spells out Worzel.

I saw a brief clip of the remake and OMG! he looks effing terrifying!!!! I think if my kids watch it, they'll get nightmares just from looking at Worzel. At least the old Worzel just looked like a scruffy old man, not bloody creepy!

Would love it if Sean Pertwee took on the role. A very sexy Worzel!

My DS was about 2 and absolutely loved Worzel we took him to some country show and he was there in person talking to everyone and he was soo nice.

Son closed his eyes buried his head in my shoulder and was terrified.

I hope he doesn’t get flashbacks now it’s being redone Grin
