....when you buy a sandwich in a shop you are getting the halves of two different sandwiches because they are made, put in a pile and sliced in half. I eat my two halves and somebody else is eating the other two halves.

Weird thought isn't it..I didn't believe it when they told me but it makes sense now I think about it.

It depends on the method - not all sandwiches are cut this way.

I think it's different when they are pre-packed for shops and machines cut them up. I wish I'd never been told now!

Each sandwich half should be given a matching number corresponding with its other half and the number put inside a little locket in the packets. When they are released from their packets they should go wondering the earth until they find their little sibling.

last year DH saw me pouring him a glass of milk. half from one bottle then (when that ran out) i topped the glass up from a new bottle. he freaked out. i told him the above "but its all different cows milk anyway". he didnt realise and hasnt touched cows milk since and now has his coffee black and almond milk on everything

I was weirdly fascinated and compelled by that video of the factory and assembly lines that make packs of sandwiches.

Isn’t that because they found fillers washed their hands more often than when wearing blue catering gloves? I think I saw that on a prog a few years ago.

When I next buy a sandwich I'm going to look.. Whether one triangle has the softer looking edge like the top of a loaf..
I regularly buy them and never noticed.. May have to get a meal deal tomorrow.

That’s why when I get one with tomatoes I get loads of the top slices.
