Just come back from a week away and noticed as I turned into my road a house with a Christmas tree and lights up already. It is not yet the last week of November.

There's a couple of people on my fb that have their tree up. I think they're a bit mental and will be sick of it by Christmas

Too early for me personally, I'd be sick of the sight of it by Christmas Day, but it's up to other people what they do with their own houses.

If it brings them joy who cares? They put a Christmas tree up not drowned a puppy

What if you are away from Christmas?

What if your children are away for Christmas?

What if you have a catastrophic reason for not waiting for Christmas?

Not everyone can manage the same schedule as you.

Hello Scrooge

Mine is normally up a week in to November but circumstances this year means I haven't put it up yet. I love the festivities!

If it makes them happy then why not?

Scarlettpixie · 21/11/2019 22:02

MYOB.

Early Dec for me but if others want to do it sooner what has that got to do with me? If it makes them happy, crack on.

Ours is going up this weekend. I never get why people are so invested in what others get up to.

Why does someone else’s home decor bother you? Would you comment if they had new wallpaper or curtains? Their house - their choice.

Their house so their choice I suppose 🤷Ours won't be going up until the middle of December at the earliest though.

I would enjoy the lights.

Its not in your house, why do you care? Its too early for me to do mine but I'll enjoy other peoples until I put mine up.

Actually ND put the lights up ages ago but only switched them on this week, my DH doesn't do outside (we are in the middle of nothing and can't see them from inside) which is fine but it was lovely to see next doors this evening :)

A house by me always puts their tree up in mid September.

It just seems to me that people who put their tree up this early are wishing their lives away. I’m actually enjoying looking forward to putting my tree up in mid December, I want to stretch out that anticipation and not be sick of the sight of it by Boxing Day. I knew I would get loads of”what’s it to you” responses though.

Stop sucking all the fun out of the build up to Christmas with your whinging please. Let people enjoy life the way they want to. It's a bit of harmless fun.

I haven’t put mine up yet but I think I might do this weekend. Takes ages to put up so I want to enjoy it for as long as possible! And brings a bit of colour and cheer to the house when it’s grey outside.

Yes it's way too early. But it's not in my house so I don't really care.

If they want to vac round and dust the Christmas decorations for weeks on end that's up to them.

Predictable responses on this thread. How very dare you have an opinion OP. Grin

My neighbours still have their pumpkins on display in the garden. No Christmas trees down our way yet but I did see a very large one wedged into a pub. I say wedged because it was clearly too tall for the space and they had just squished it into a corner.

In one of my old Enid Blytons the Famous Five put up their Christmas tree on Christmas Eve. Grin
